Faldo Will Design Course In India

I had no idea there was a booming golf market in India until I saw an article about six-time Major champion, Nick Faldo who was about to start on a new project there in the new year. I don't no of any other signature designs in the area but I'm going to do some research to see. It will be a Faldo signature golf course and ground is suppose to break in 2008.

"We are very close to selecting a property in India. The course will be in Delhi, which is the hub of golfing in India, and we are hopeful that construction work will start by early next year," Mr Nick Edmund, managing director of Faldo Design said.

Yes Nick Faldo is doing a course in India for a major real estate company - Ansals (API), just outside Delhi. See www.megapoliscity.com.
An Indian Sports management company run by Neeraj Sareen has pursued this project for over 3 years.
Other signature courses in and around Delhi include courses by Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus and Palmer.
Best golfing weather in Delhi is October-March
