HSBC Champions Tournament On Tap This Week

World number two Phil Mickelson and number four Ernie Els lead a cosmopolitan field in the battle for Asia's richest prize at the third Champions tournament in Shanghai this week.

Big golf event taking place in Asia this week as the HSBC Champions tournament starts in Shanghai on Thursday. Tigers Woods is skipping the $5 million event for the first time, but Phil will be there to represent American golf. I'm sure he'll want to improve on his tie for 23rd showing in his Asian debut in Singapore last week.

Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington, Vijay Singh, Angel Cabrera and Retief Goosen, are also there to compete in the richest golf event in Asia. A field boosting six players with 13 major championship victories between them should be fun to watch.

Argentina's U.S. Open champion Cabrera, who held off Fijian Singh to win the Singapore Open last weekend should be the favorite this week as he's been playing well as of late.

The Golf Channel will televise play at the following times for those looking to watch some golf:
Thursday 11:00 PM - 3:00 AM ET
Friday 11:00 PM - 3:00 AM ET
Saturday 11:00 PM - 3:00 AM ET
Sunday 11:00 PM - 3:00 AM ET
