Q-School Awaits...

ScoreGolf had a interesting writeup in there weekly email newsletter on the Canadian golfers looking to get through Q-school this year. Some have done it before for others it will be the first time. I always like to see the coverage of Q-school on the Golf Channel as it makes for interesting viewing as it's always great golf with some ups and some heartbreak.

Pre-qualifying for Q-School began mid-September and spans (for those able to emerge from the pack) until the first week of December. And for the 21 Canadian-connected golfers who made it through to the second stage the hope is that the new year will bring with it another reason to celebrate, coming in the form of a Tour card. For many on the list of those advancing — players like Danny King of Milton, Ont., and Brad Fritsch of Manotick, Ont. — none of this is new. They have seen this tournament before and realize all of the heartache and joy attached to it. For others like Ben Ferguson, a native of Penrith, Australia who now calls Ancaster, Ont., home, it is a chance at a career renaissance. Ferguson played the big tour in 2001 and has played stretches on the Nationwide Tour. Most recently, he alternated between the Canadian Tour and the Ontario-based Great Lakes Tour in 2007. A complete list of Canadians advancing to the second round, including a handful of Canadians earning exemptions into the second stage, follows.
Complete list of Canadians at Q-School:
Lee Curry, Kemptville, Ont.
Adam Speirs, Winnipeg, Man.
