Good news for golf in Canada for young golfers and just plain exposure. The Canada Games Council announced Tuesday that golf will be included in the official roster of sports for the 2013 Games in Quebec. Golf will make its Canada Games debut as a demonstration sport at the 2009 Games in Charlottetown.

"The (Royal Canadian Golf Association) is honoured that the CGC has selected the sport of golf to the 2009 and now 2013 Canada Games," said RCGA Managing Director Jeff Thompson in a statement. "As the national sports organization for golf in this country, the RCGA truly believes that the Canada Games provides our high-performance golf athletes across Canada with a major benchmark for excellence."
