Too Much Being Made Of The Rookie Card

By Sean Crogie   Posted at  9/19/2008 04:07:00 AM   No comments

Every two years when the Ryder Cup comes around there is always talk of the rookies on the team. There are always a few just like this years US and European Teams but is to much done up about being a rookie, it's not like these guys are just out of diapers or had some recent acne treatments. Take for instance Steve Stricker a 4 time PGA Tour winner and a member of the winning 2007President's Cup Team he's a rookie. Maybe a Ryder Cup one but certainly not a rookie in my eye. Justin Rose a young guy has 4 European Tour victories. Rookie as well. The media likes a good story that for sure and I'm sure those "rookies" will come through on both sides.
