Irish Golf Is Good - Just Ask Shane Lowry

So many ups and downs during the final round for Shane Lowry. It was great to see him hold it together after 3 playoff holes to win the 3 Irish Open with a par defeating Robert Rock who was looking for his first European Tour title. But it wasn't to be for Rock after 3 grueling extra playoff holes Shane Lowry became the second amateur to win on the European Tour this year (Danny Lee was the other in winning the Johnnie Walker Classic). Those there surrounded the young Irishmen with hand shakes and praise and I'm sure those watching in the pubs throughout Ireland where the room chandeliers were shaking with hopefully no Guinness being spilt as Lowry sunk the final putt to seal the victory. Ireland will certainly have a big smile on her face as well as Lowry. Check out the video of the final putt as well as a great interview with the young Irishman. This victory I'm sure will certainly lead Lowry to turn professional in the next two weeks.
