Vijay Singh: Won this tournament in 2004. One of the only top 10 ranked players playing. He can win here if he keeps it in the short grass.
Average 30.5 | 2006 T-19 (-3) | 2005 CUT | 2004 Win (-18) | 2003 2 (-9) |
K.J. Choi: Won last year and back in 2002. He usually plays great in Florida.
Average 57.2 | 06 Win (-13) | 2005 WD | 2004 CUT | 03 T-40 (+2) | 02 Win |
Charles Howell III: After his win at the Nissan had a decent Accenture Match Play, not a great record here but is playing amazing(1st Money List/Fedex Points/Scoring Avg.) and with a week off should be refreshed.
Average 58.0 | 2006 CUT | 2005 T-16 (-1) | 2004 T-50 (0) | 2003 T-24 (0) |
Sleepers:
Jesper Parnevik: See below
Brett Wetterich: Brett finished second last year at this event and finished strong last week with a final round 67 to finish last week in a T8 position. He's rounding into form which saw him win the Byron Nelson last year.
Average 40.5 | 2006 T-2 (-9) | 2002 79 (+10) |
Trevor Immelman: Doesn't have much of a track record at this event. But I have a hunch he'll play well at this course. His finish at the Accenture (3rd) will help with his mental game.
Average 44.0 | 2006 T-44 (+2) |
Long shots:
Sergio Garcia: hasn't played this event before. If his putter is on he could win this week.
Camilo Villegas: A tie for second last week will do him well, except for a few wonky putts he might of won. He loves Florida. We'll see.
Average 31.0 | 2006 T-31 (-1) |
Bernard Langer: Played well last week except for his second round. Plays well in Florida. Look at his record on the PGA Tour this year(T10, T13). He just might surprise.
Average 31.5 | 2006 T-25 (-2) | 2005 13 (-3) | 2004 T-24 (-4) |
