EDS Byron Nelson Championship Field Coming Together

Looks like the EDS Byron Nelson Championship scored a top 10 player as Adam Scott, the No. 10 player in the World rankings committed Friday to play in the Championship, allowing the tournament to not be shut out from drawing elite players.

Scott, who finished third at the 2006 Nelson, joined Jesper Parnevik, Fredrik Jacobson and Tim Herron as last-minute additions to the field for the Thursday-April 27 event at the TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas. Scott is the only top-10 player who will compete at the Nelson, an event in which the level of star power has slid since Nelson died in 2006.

Joining Scott as top-20 headliners next week will be Colonial champion Rory Sabbatini (No. 12), Masters champion Trevor Immelman (No. 15), SergioGarcia (No. 16) and Luke Donald (No. 17). Looks like this week's winner Boo Weekley is also scheduled to compete.

Challenged by a difficult date on the PGA Tour calendar (two weeks after the Masters, two weeks before The Players Championship) and breaking in a redesigned course, Nelson officials landed eight of the world's top 30 golfers, the event's lowest total in years.
