The Marshes Golf Club Review
Well I finally got to play The Marshes this past Wednesday and all I can say is wow! What a nice treat as a buddy invited me along for his 7:10AM tee time. As soon as I arrived I started to talk to the cart lad who immediately got me a cart complete with a scorecard/tees and that got me on my way. The 18 holes at the Marshes is unique in that each 9 has 3 par 5's and 3 par 3's. This setup is fun in that the par 3 range from 106 yds to 165 yds from the whites. So par or better is attainable but others can be had as there are plenty of bunkers and the greens make 3 putting easy, they are quite challenging. The par 5's from the whites are quite fun also and some can be quite the test ranging from 454yds. To 581yds. Some are definitely 3 shot to the green holes, still fun though. The GPS yardage systems on the carts are quite helpful with yardage especially for someone new to the course. Although my round was free, The Marshes will dent your pocket book at $115 between 9 and 3 for a green fee($85 before and after 9 and 3, $65 after 4pm) but it's worth playing as it's a great test of golf on a beautifully manicured course. Highly recommended.

New Hogan Ball (Solitaire)
Supposedly similar to all those other low compression balls. It is a two-piece, solid core golf ball with low spin rates. Looks like it will be another competitor against the Dunlop LoCo, Nike Mojo, Titleist DT SoLo, and Maxfli Noodle. Expect to see in stores in July some time. Nothing much about it at BenHogan.com
