Renfrew Golf Course Review

Played this course for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and all I can say is play this course if you get a chance. I went out about 2pm which cost me $30 (cheap). The first few holes are not long but you have to place your shots in the right area to get to the greens, which tend to be a bit smaller. This course has been around for 76 years and many older trees line the fairways so don't stray to far. My favorite holes on the course were the par 5s not only because I parred them all, but because there challenging in there own way, all were under 500 yds. Here's a pic of the finishing hole:

Here's one from #17 a beautiful 150 yd par 3 over a rather large gully.

Playing this course for the first time was a pleasure, on a Monday the cart girl was even out which was good as it was quite hot. I did walk the course but for those who don't like walking a hilly course definitely take a cart. Highly recommend, challenging for all.

Score: 93

Summer Vacation - Perth Golf Course and Pakenham Reviews

It seems like forever since I visit my blog, that's what summer will do to you.(I'm on another weeks vacation next week). In the last few weeks I got to play Perth Golf Course Links O' Tay which is an amazing course one I highly recommend, went with my father-in-law and we had a great time. Not only is it the oldest golf course in Canada but it will test even the longest of hitters with 4 sets of tees. You definitely can't hit the driver on all par 4s especially holes #4 where I hit a 5 iron and #10 where I hit a 4 iron. My two favorite holes were the last 2 holes where I went par-bogey, #17 is a beautiful par 5 were your shot into the green is the most important. #18 is a scenic downhill par 4 where you can smash a drive down far if your straight enough. All in all loved the course, go golf it. Also play a quick 9 at Pakenham's Lake Course last week and again highly recommend it and can't wait to play a full 18 there. The 9 I played had bunkers, water and a few elevation changes. I ended up shooting 47 ( par was 36), could of been a lot better if not for a 3 putt and some poor par 3 shots. I definitely will be back. Bye for now.
