Hating The Rain Delays On The PGA Tour

I'm not one to complain especially when it comes to golf but could someone do something about the weather down in Texas. They've had so many rain delays for the Colonial the tournament director last night on the TGC was saying a finish on Memorial Day Monday could be a possibility.
They did finally get the 3rd round in a little while ago, with Scott Verplank, Rory Sabbatini, Bernard Langer and Jim Furyk all tied for the lead at -11. There's a host of other at -9,-8 and -7.
So the tournament is tight so that's good it just messes with my Yahoo Fantasy League where the deadlines to pick your players for each round has been before the round has actually ended. So it's alot of guess work. I'm pulling for Cink, Lonard, Stricker or Rollins to have some good 4th rounds. We'll see today or maybe tomorrow.

Scotty Cameron has introduced a blog that will take you inside into the World of SC including Scotty Cameron putters, the Putter Studio, and life on the PGA Tour. This will be great more cool pics from Scotty Cameron from the Tour and elsewhere.
Check out his post about his love of art and some excellent pics of his art. Very nice artwork from someone who doesn't know alot about art but can appreciate it. His post about getting a putter for a kid named Harley is cool too.

Sens Rally At City Hall

So I was off yesterday and with Larry O'Brien the Mayor of Ottawa having a big Ottawa Senators rally downtown at City Hall it was a no brainer for my two girls and I to head downtown. We didn't know what to expect but as we got closer to City Hall there were people everywhere and this wasn't the normal downtown craziness. We actually scored a parking spot around noon only about 2 blocks away. The area where they had everything set up was similar to a few concerts I'd seen like Great Big Sea last year and Ben Harper a few years ago also. The vibe was like a concert for sure. There were lots of vendors selling food and some Sens gear that was pretty sweet, especially the Eastern Conference Champ hats. The kids loved the ice cream as it was a little hot out, no complaints though after a long winter. They unveiled a large Sens banner to some fireworks that the kids loved also. The chants of "Alfie Alfie" were cool although no current players were there just past players. They must of been at practice. We left after about an hours after cooling off in a Sens fountain. Can't wait til Monday.

Ottawa Senators Off To The Stanley Cup

Ottawa has been jumping since the Sens defeated the Sabres on Saturday 3-2 OT on Alfie's quick snap shot at 9:32 of OT. Where were you for the goal, most fans were glued to the TV in the afternoon as it was a 2pm game. I was surrounded by my family and my sister's family for a long weekend BBQ. The beer and ribs tasted a lot better after Alfie's goal. It was so appropriate that Alfie scored the winner for the team after his own adversity over the years with Ottawa. Great to see, who will be the opponent, who cares, we'll beat them. Tickets won't go on sale yet for the finals but they will be a hot ticket in Ottawa for sure. Will keep you updated.

Suzann Petterson Wins Michelob

A big congrats goes to Suzann Petterson for winning for the first time on the LPGA tour this past weekend at the Michelob Ultra Open. It was a nail biting three playoff holes against Jee Young Lee. It's the first win for a Norwegian on the LPGA Tour. She won a cool $330 000 for her efforts.
This victory was long overdue as Suzann was so close this last while only to lose big leads at the
Safeway Classic & Kraft Nabisco, finishing second both times.
I do believe it's the start of many more victories for her and other young stars on the
LPGA
Tour.

Corvo's Goal Beats Sabres In 2OT

I'm a little tired at work this morning after watching the Sens go into double overtime but it was well worth it as Joe Corvo's blasted knuckle ball shot beat Ryan Miller. This game had it all great saves by both goalies, tense moments(Corvo's interference penalty in first OT) and big hits like Volchenkov on Pominville. It's the first time Ottawa has won a game #2 in the playoffs and they were definitely the better team. Fans will be rockin' Scotiabank place on Monday for the first game of the third round in Ottawa. We love our Sens.

Charley's Putter At The Players

Here's a few shots from ScottyCameron.com of Charley Hoffman's putter. It's a beauty, a Tour Red X, sometimes called a Black X because of it's charcoal mist finish. It also has 3 sight lines on the flange and an additional sightline on the topline.

Made To Order Rain Please!

Made it out for a round at one of my local courses, Manderely on the Green with my Father-in-law yesterday. You could not of asked for a better day warm temperatures for May and a nice breeze to keep the bugs at bay especially on the holes that played into the forest. What amazed me was that some of the greens and around the greens were starting to brown up. Now I’m not an advocate for rain but definitely need it, after 9pm and before 6am would be great. Shot an ok round of 95 for the second round of the year but still had a few bad holes with two 3-putts. I definitely think it’s going to be a great year and hopefully well on my way to shooting in the 80s.

Tiger Wins Wachovia..Off To The Players

Tiger Woods shot a 69 on Sunday to win his third tournament of the year. He finished two stroke ahead of runner-up Steve Stricker. Tiger had a total of 275 at the Wachovia Championship, a course that was tough all week. Woods had a magnificent 31 on the front nine and then held on down the stretch as the wind and the difficulty of the Quail Hollow course in Charlotte took its toll on all contenders. Phil Mickelson and 54-hole leader Rory Sabbatini tied for third at 279.
