Golf Shoe Review - Jack Grace USA - Stylin' Customized Golf Shoes

Jack Grace USA wins my 2017 Golf Product of the Year. Not only are these great shoes to wear but you can customize them to your liking with interchangeable saddles.

I got to test out the Innovator 1.0 for the better part of the Fall here in Ottawa and down in Kiawah Island where I closed out my golf year with 54 holes in a day and a half.

Having reviewed many golf shoes over the years these shoes not only get top marks in the style department but they were great in all types of playing conditions.

The big draw for me is that you can swap out the saddle to match whatever ensemble you might be wearing that day on the links. I got the USA Bundle; having red/white/blue saddles make these shoes easy to mix and match into my golf apparel. On long golf trips I only have to pack one pair of golf shoes which is great as I have more room for other necessities.

Be sure and check out the Jack Grace USA Booth at this years 2018 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando Booth 6392.

Jack Grace was founded by a former banker, named Bart Walker, who had a dream to create a comfortable, color-changing, and cost-effective golf shoe. After developing a prototype on his kitchen table, Walker, married and the father of two, soon decided that he had found his new calling in life. He quit his banking job, cashed in his 401K and launched Jack Grace USA, a startup named after his two children, William Jack and Estella Grace. “To me, this is the pursuit of the American Dream. I cashed in my 401K and I’m going for it,’’ he said. “I just wanted to work at something I was passionate about.’’

Golf Course Review - Cougar Point - Gary Player Designed

I was lucky enough to play the newly renovated Cougar Point Golf Course this past November. What a really fun golf course to play. The kind of course I could play over and over again and not get bored. Multiply tee decks, just the right amount of hazards, and the South Carolina winds will challenged golfers of all skills.

Having never played the course before the latest renovations that had the course closed from November 2016 to October 2017 I have nothing but positives to say for the renovations the Gary Player Design Company worked on over the year.

The main renovation was the re-grassing of the greens, tees, and fairways with Paspalum (the same highly acclaimed salt-tolerant grass that Kiawah Resort has on its other four courses). this will only enhance the golfers experience going forward.

#2 Cougar Point

Spectacular par 3 with a huge green that slopes back to front. Note the newly rebuilt bulkheads that frame this tough hole regardless of where you tee of from. Par is a great score here regardless of the pin position.

#4 Cougar Point

Holes 4 thru 6 meander along the Kiawah River and offer the golfer amazing vistas with plenty of photo opportunities. The wind will have you thinking about each and every challenging shot.

#6 Cougar Point

Another fun par 3 where short is not a bad thing and left and long isn't. Beautifully designed with again great views of the Kiawah River.

#9 Cougar Point

#11 Cougar Point

All bunkers were rebuilt at Cougar Point and are strategically placed for any wayward shots.

#15 Cougar Point

I don't know whether its the Live Oak trees, the challenging 2nd/3rd shots on this par 5 or the beautiful picturesque green accented by the bulkhead/water but #15 just might be my favourite par 5 at Cougar Point.

#17 Cougar Point

Can you say risk reward, love this narrow par 4. Don't bite off more then you can chew on this 331 yd. par 4 that can see a golfer use many different clubs to carve out a birdie.

#18 Cougar Point

Great finishing hole that uses all aspects of the renovations (re-grassing, rebuilt bunkers/bulkheads, irrigation etc) to make any golfers round memorable. Par will seem like a birdie here.

Most will come to Kiawah Island Resort to play the Ocean Course and they should but don't forget about Cougar Point a must play if you're in the area of at the Resort. Will challenged all levels of golfers and the renovations by Gary Player Design Company will only help to improve the longevity and the playability of this course for years to come.
