2010 Bridgestone J38 Line Looking Good

Bridgestone has their new for 2010 J38 clubs up on their site. Something to look forward to in the new year for sure by their looks alone. Bridgestone looks to have some well designed clubs for 2010. Back in August GolfWRX had some great picks on their site of the 2010 Bridgestone line but now some golfers have got around to reviewing them as American Golf Blog has a great review of the J38 Wedges.

Also remember back in the Fall when Matt Kuchar won with his prototype J38 driver wonder what he'll have in his bag at Kapalua. If you need to see them sooner than later you might just have to hit them up at the PGA Merchandise Show - Bridgestone announces plans to exhibit at PGA Merchandise Show.

Those wedges sure look sweet.

End Of Year Assessment

This is the time of the year I assess my websites/blogs and figure out what's working and what isn't and either cut ties entirely or do some revamping. Most of my sites at this time of the year come up for URL renewal. This site as well as ProGolfSwingVideos.com and my hockey blogs. Also I like looking a those URLs that might be of interest to me in create another interesting blog. You know those possible sites like golfswingonline.com, golfappareltoday.com or carinsurancelist.com. I feel you always got to be looking at other ventures and looking at your present online presence for improvement.

Idle Golf Blog Thoughts

Who would of thought this little ole blog would blossom into what it is today. I'm still a little guy in the large golf blogsphere but it's nice to be contacted over things that might matter for golfers out there whether it's the hard core or weekend golfer.

I always thought it would be cool to find a job possible just doing what I'm doing now but full time but generating a full time income is the real big thing keeping me back. That's why I still have my full time job.
This year was great with doing various golf reviews being interviewd by the Globe and Mail and one of my YouTube videos be featured on a local All Sports radio station. I can only look forward to what the coming year brings.

SeeMore Says Bring Your Putter To Work Tomorrow

Hopefully your boss is understanding. SeeMore says bring your putter to work. So don't forget to bring your trusty flat stick to work tomorrow to get some putting advice from SeeMore Putters. I reviewed one of their putters this year and was really impressed. So tune in tomorrow to get a free lesson. Here's the lowdown.

SeeMore wants you to bring your putter to work and have a practice lesson via our FACEBOOK page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/SeeMore-P ... 1641133590). People have requested that it would be nice to ask real time questions about putting instruction. We have listened. We would like everyone who plays the game of golf to bring his or her putter to work. The majority of us do not live in a warm climate year round. Therefore, teaching putting while in your office in the winter months seems to be natural. Learn why the SeeMore system is beneficial to a consistent set-up, consistent stroke and consistent ball position.

On Wednesday, December 16th, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am (CST) on our FACEBOOK page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/SeeMore-P ... 1641133590), we will be hosting putting tips along with answering questions about the putting stroke. We encourage everyone to bring the putter to work so that he or she can benefit from this lesson. Feel free to share with others.

During the lesson upload a picture on SeeMore Players Club FACEBOOK page of you and your putter while at work and be entered to win a SeeMore FGP stainless steel putter.

The 20th Hole Golf Record Book Review

The 20th Hole Golf Record Book by Matt Gullo -Reviewed by Ottawa Golf Blog

A few months back Matt Gullo was nice enough to send me two of his books that he's made. Here's my thoughts on his book entitled The 20th Hole Golf Record Book.

This black hardcover book from Matt Gullo for me is geared towards the person who wants to compile all their individual records and info on their golf game. A person who wants to archive the information to be viewed at a later date either by them-self or by others. I could really see this being a coffee table book in a "Guys room". Here are a few of the things you can keep track of: scoring records, greatest shots, best courses played, locations played, tournament play, match play/bets/games, stories, accomplishments, memories, and Hall of Fame. Matt really covers the areas most people would want to keep track of, I can't think of anything else. Can you think of anything that you might want included?

At the beginning of the book it explains what each record is and at the beginning of each section there's a picture as well. The book is laid out well with simple headings, very easy to figure out where the information goes. There's also plenty of room to fill out any details of your records.

All in all the The 20th Hole Golf Record Book is a great book for those intrigued with tracking their Golf Records. The book is laid out plain and simple. The only real negative I have is the interior seem like not great quality paper, seems very thin/cheap. This book can be purchased for $24.95 from Matt's site. A must for those golfers who have everything and are golf stats obsessed. Might be a good last minute Christmas gift for those golf folk on your list.

About the author -Matt Gullo

My name is Matt Gullo and I’m a United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF) certified teaching professional. I’ve been playing golf for over 20 years and have been teaching since 2004 at the Every Body Golf School in Northern Virginia. I’ve been fortunate enough to have learned from several excellent PGA, LPGA, and USGTF teaching professionals who have a wealth of teaching knowledge and experience.

I played four years of High School golf and in the past have worked in the golf industry as a golf assistant, caddy, and design consultant for a backyard putting green company.

Throughout my golf career, I always tracked my own stats, notes from lessons, new techniques and shots, goals, and records in various notebooks. I decided to design products that would allow golfers to keep all this information in one book to be organized and utilized for progression and improvement.

Rickie Fowler Is My HomeBoy

Rickie Fowler gets his PGA Tour card Monday and I get my "Rickie Is My HomeBoy" shirt delivered from Puma Golf North America by UPS. Things are good are good in the Great White North.

I really looked forward to seeing how he would do with the pressure of Q-School and even though he said he didn't feel the pressure like most guys there was still pressure he just seems to be able to handle it. Pretty good for a guy who's only 20 with rounds of 74-68-66-73-70-70 he's got his card and looks like he'll be able to make up his schedule for the West Coast pretty much to his liking and for fans we look forward to seeing this rising . For now Rickie Fowler is my Homeboy.

Graham DeLaet Headed To The PGA Tour

Canadian Graham DeLaet future looks bright after securing his card for the 2010 season with a final round 73 at the final stage of Q-School. He finished in a tie for 8th with rounds of 70,71,64,69,70, and 73. If you saw his final hole which he birdied you can tell he was pumped with a Tigeresque fist pump.

"I hit the ball very solid all week and I was able to limit my mistakes", said DeLaet. "Playing six rounds of golf is draining mentally and you need to remain focused until that final putt drops. I’m excited and look forward to playing on the PGA Tour."

2009 was a great year for DeLaet:
  • Won twice on the Canadian Tour (ATB Financial Classic, Players Cup) on his way to finishing first on the tour's Order of Merit.
  • Won in South Africa on the Sunshine Tour (BMG Classic) and currently is 8th on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit.
  • DeLaet along with Stuart Anderson represented Canada at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China.

DeLaet brings the total of full-time Canadian golfers on the PGA Tour to four including: Stephen Ames, Chris Baryla and Mike Weir. DeLaet will have to start checking out some honolulu hotels for the start of the upcoming season as well as some on the West Coast, congrats.

Cheering LPGA Q-School Hopeful Marianne Skarpnord

I'm cheering for Marianne Skarpnord at this week's LPGA Q-School. First off she's won twice on the Ladies European Tour this year in October at the Carta Si Italian Open and in May she won the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open. So she has some game.

Also she's from Norway and if you've ever been to Norway (which I have) the people are awesome and she comes across that way especially on Twitter where she answered my question about her Tour Scotty Cameron Squareback Prototype. You can follow her at @mskarpnord

So good luck with the putts this week Marianne. I'll be cheering for you North of the border.
Here's a little video introduction for Marianne.

Jesper Parnevik Critical Comments On Tiger Transgressions

Jesper is feeling some regrets for introducing Tiger to his wife Elin Nordegren after all that's come out about Tiger's transgressions. Parnevik never one to pull any punches suggested in the video that Elin should of used a driver rather than a 3 iron on the vehicle as well as saying he thought Tiger was a better guy and wishes he'd thought first instead of doing it like all the Nike Ads say. I've got to agree with Jesper and this guy is friends with Tiger and his family.

PGA Tour Q-School Starts- Who are you following?

With Q-School starting today one can only imagine what's going through the heads of the golfers trying to get through the grueling 6 rounds of golf. Here's who i have my eye on this week.

Jesper Parnevik- Jesper is one of my favorite players and although he hasn't won since 2001 I think he's got a few more wins in him. His body has had some injuries in the last few years hence why he's here. Hopefully he doesn't have to use his all time money exemption this year. Go Jesper.

Rickie Fowler - This guy seems to be the real deal with some partial status already with his first three professionals tournaments going t-7, t-2 and t-40. It will be interesting to see him under pressure for 6 straight days.

David Duval - We all want this former #1 to succeed the scores just haven't come.

Jason Gore - A pure ball striker this guy just needs his putter to wake up and they'll be no problems.

The Canadians in the field Jon Mills, David Hearn, Barrett Jarosch, Ted Brown, Julien Trudeau, Keven Fortin-Simard and Graham DeLaet. Dustin Risdon and Chris Baryla too even though they have PGA status next year.(Top 25 Nationwide Tour)
