My Top 3 Holes at Muskoka Bay Club

In April, Golf Week published there Top 40 Best Canadian Modern Golf Courses. Muskoka Bay Club was ranked #15. This past Friday I got to play Muskoka Bay the first day of my Muskoka Golf Adventure. At most high end resort golf courses it's very hard to target three of your favorite holes but here's my attempt.

#4 Shorty - Par 4
Played the whites and from 278 you can take driver out and try to make the green from the elevated tee deck. Pretty narrow so the smart play may be to hit hybrid about 180- 190 yard drive. Setting up a wedge in to this well guarded green. On the left with a plethora of bunkers and the back with good old Muskoka rock. Could be birdie or a snowman.

#9 The Narrows - Par 4
From the whites this 343 yard par 4 looks slightly shorter from the elevated tee deck. Might have to do with the visually intimidating rock outcroppings. A hybrid down to about 150 yds. in makes for a very hard shot into this seemingly small green. The rocks are narrow and will gobble up your ball if your not accurate enough. When you get up there to see how much space you have you'll want to play it again immediately. A hole like no other golf hole I've ever played.

#17 Waterloo -Par 3
Played from the blues at 175 yds. A par 3 with no bail out areas you have to be accurate with whatever club you choose. A large pond is a wonderful hazard on this longer par 3. If you are accurate with your distance, you'll be on looking for a birdie but happy with a par as this green has many tiers and undulations to deal with.
