The Heritage Golf Group’s “Hilton Head Island Winter Challenge” provides an ultimate winter wonderland for larger groups. Starting at $160 (per person, per night based on 12 players), it offers three nights’ accommodations, personalized bag tag, tee gift, logoed golf balls and unlimited golf on any of its seven courses. “We’ve worked tirelessly to get our golf courses back up to par following the storm and are excited to re-open them on a daily basis,” says Cary Corbitt, President of the Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association. “We want to assure our loyal guests there’s no need to alter travel plans; by the end of November nearly all operations will be back to normal if they aren’t already.”
Crews have been working around the clock to fix landscaping damage and clear fallen trees and other debris from golf courses. Buildings and other structures experienced very little impact and have been open since Hurricane Matthew passed earlier this month.
At nearby Fripp Island Resort, nearly all resort amenities including dining, tennis, pools, activity center, marina and Ocean Creek Golf Club have been open since Oct. 27. Plans are to re-open the acclaimed Ocean Point Golf Links by January 1, 2017. Starting at $110 per person, per night (based on eight-or-more players, taxes and fees not included) the Stay and Play Package includes nightly accommodations, 18 holes with cart on Ocean Creek and complimentary replay round based on availability.
