Brandt
Snedeker shot a brilliant final-round of 63 to come from five strokes back of the 54 hole leader Jeff
Overton. He was all smiles as the final groups finished on 18, and his bank account just got a bit larger with the $900,000 first place cheque. His victory by two strokes over Jeff
Overton, Tim
Petrovic, and Billy Mayfair allowed
Snedeker to move into the top 10 of the FedEx Cup standings heading into the four-week
PGA Tour playoffs. Jeff
Overton did manage to move into the top 144 to make the field for The
Barclays this coming week.
Overton came to Greensboro at No. 165 on the points list but picking up 1,867 points he jumped to 109
th. Others who made it into the top 144 in the final week of qualifying were
Shigeki Maruyama and Anders Hansen.
Not so good though for some players, those bubble players. Eric Axley, who at No. 145 (1,566 points) gained 174 more for his tie for 27th this week, but fell 22 points shy of 144th-ranked Jeff Gove. Others who failed to qualify were No. 146 Lee Janzen, No. 147 Glen Day and No. 148 Marco Dawson, who each came to Greensboro in the Top 144 but missed the cut and dropped four spots to fall from the field.
