Could You Live Without Your Clubs?

Alot of guys I play golf with will make no apologies to me when they say they couldn't live without their golf clubs and I think I know what they mean. I also have a few friends that can't live without their MP3 players you know the people that use them for working out, in their cars, plugged into them all the time. But getting back to the golf clubs do you pass golf courses wishing yo had your clubs in the back even on holidays. Do you have a club by your door ready to hit some chips if you get a free moment. Hey maybe you even have a backup set just in case you get off work early and there's a buddy willing to play. Could You Live Without Your Clubs? I say hell no.

Pill For My Golf Swing Flaws

Do you ever wish that you could take a pill that would cure your terrible golf swing like the people who take a diet pill and hope to lose weight or a pill to grow hair because they're bald. This golf season was a struggle with my driver swing especially the development of a crazy hook. Now I don't mind a draw but this was your good ole crazy banana hook. It has become real annoying that I've gone through 4 driver this golf season. I've now got a TaylorMade R5 TP driver that I've had out once I just hope I'll get it out a few more times before the season ends so I can end on a positive note.

PGA's Trunesa Loves Vegas

What's not to like about Las Vegas golf especially the PGA Tour in Vegas. Justin Timberlake hosting the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open has to be a plus and lots of birdies made by a host of professional golfers trying to win for the first time or just keep their card. I've never been to Vegas but I figure their golf courses all have neon lights lights like the strip and maybe even the digital signage that the Casino and hotels use as well. I'm sure Marc Trunesa doesn't care as I'm sure he's partying it up after winning Timberlake's tournament.

Enjoy Some Fall Golf

What's better during this time of the Fall than some pumpkin pie, turkey with gravy and stuffing then getting those last minute golf games in before the snow flies here in Ontario. Most who are in those sunny and warm places all the time are spoiled. So get out there and enjoy some golf I've been taking alot of pictures lately that I'll post later but the color of the trees is amazing. Be patience though there's alot of leaves about so you may lose a few balls during your round and they may not be far off the fairway just remember in a few months the snow will be here. So enjoy some Fall golf.

Rock & Roll Putters - Customized Rock Putters For The Avid Golfer

I had the opportunity last week to play Pakenham Highlands Golf Course for the first time in about 2 years. Although there was a bit of a chilly wind it was quite enjoyable although my game was a bit to be desired. It was also a good day because I talked a good friend into taking the day off(it was his birthday!) and tag along with me.

We ended up being paired with another twosome Bob and Ray who ended up being two great guys with decent golf games to boot. They were quite patient with our twosome sometimes random bad shots.

After a few holes I noticed Bob was putting with a none traditional putter that at first glance looked to me like a wooden putter. It had a really nice sound off the head and Bob was making alot of putts along the way as we played the Lake Course followed by the Canyon Course. I finally had to ask him about his putter and boy am I ever glad I did.

Well it seems Bob's putter isn't actually wood it's made out of a rock a real nice darker color rock and the best part is Bob makes these putters himself. Bring him a rock you want made into a putter and he can customize it to your liking. These "Rock & Roll Putters" are pretty sweet looking and usually only cost between $50-70 dollars. Can you imagine your vacationing in Ireland and find a beautiful rock there. Take it to Bob Smith and he can make a beautiful putter out of it. How's that for a keepsake.

Your daughter picks up an amazing rock on a hike you get it made into a putter for her Grandad. Great gift idea for the golfer in your life. Play it everyday or keep it as a keepsake on display.

Here's a few pictures of the putter Bob was using at Pakenham Highlands Golf Course last week.

Get Your Digital Camera Out For The Fall Golf Colours

Today was one of those nice Fall days when you really don't care a whole lot about your scores it was just nice to be out in the Fall weather. Even though my new driver wasn't firing on all cylinders I got to play Pakenham Highlands Golf Course for the second time and the trees on a few holes were quite spectacular especially #2 on the Canyon Course. Digital cameras were a must today to capture the beauty on those holes. I got a friend to take the day off work(he it was easy it was his Birthday) and got paired with a great pair of guys from the area. Get out there before the snow flies the conditions are great.

Robert Karlsson Hitting New Titleist 909-F3 Series Prototype Fairway Wood

Robert Karlsson lately is looking pretty good with two recent wins on the European Tour his swing and tempo is looking amazing. This video clip is from Day 2 of the Dunhill Links Championship hole #15 at St. Andrews. He's using Titleist's new 909-F3 Series Fairway Wood. Looks pretty nice to me.

Cell Reception On Rural Golf Courses

I live outside of the city and one of the things that bugs me the most is when I lose my signal to my cell phone. With today's technology you'd think this wouldn't be a problem but almost every time I'm golfing at a outlying golf course sometimes I don't receive some business calls (yes I have it on vibrate). Well it looks like with a little piece of technology called a cell signal booster. I'll be able to get better reception and signal for my cell phone. I don't use my cell phone that often but when I do need to call say at the turn at my local municipal course I want the damn thing to have reception.

Martin Kaymer Leading In Scotland- Dunhil Links Video Clip

Martin Kaymer is so far leading the Dunhill Links Championship in some nasty Scottish weather. This young German golfer will no doubt be a presence in the next Ryder Cup and a force to reckon with on the European Tour. His swing is so sound. Here's a video clip from Day 2 from the 18th hole, enjoy.

Padraig Harrington Playing Well At St. Andrews - Dunhill Links Championship

It was weird not seeing Padraig Harrington at the Tour Championship considering he'd won 2 Majors this year. I'm sure the Commissioner will look into this as it seems another thing wrong with the FedEx Cup. Harrington this week is in Scotland playing at the Dunhill Links Championship a tournament i love every year because it involves amateurs paired with the pros plus they play at St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. Check out this video of Padraig on Day 2 from St. Andrews holes #15 and #17.

Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback 1 In Action

The Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback 1 is one sweet looking putter I have yet to see it live but from this video from Peter Chen at the 2008 Turning Stone Resort Championship outside of Syracuse.

After a Tour-proven winning season as an Xperimental Prototype, the Fastback 1 raced into the Studio Select production line as a much-anticipated mallet this past September.

This is one clean looking putter from Scotty , this putter is going to be in alot of bags soon if not already

Shelves Stocked With Golf Magazines

This is the time of the year that I make sure my bookshelves are nice and filled with some good winter reading. Right now my reading is consisting of Time Traveler's Wife, a real great first novel by Audrey Niffenegger but you know what I'm talking about those golf magazines you didn't quite get around to getting all of during the golf season and you still want your golf fix even though the snow is covering your favorite course. Now once the season is over you can read through your favorite golf publication cover to cover. I know I have a few Golf magazines and ScoreGolf magazines I'll be perusing this winter.
