Here's a little Geoff Ogilvy for those that requested some highlights from the Aussie. 2008 HSBC Champions Tournament.

Dream Of Swinging A Club While Snow Falls

With all this snow falling lately I feel like just holding up in my entertainment room and watching golf. The regular season doesn't start for another month but with all the silly season events plus Q-School I can only dream of golf. So some days just turning down the home theater lighting and cranking up the sound and seeing the pros hit there golf shots I almost don't think about the snow piling up in the backyard. Can't wait til spring.

Allenby holes 3 Wood For Double Eagle

Robert Allenby holed a 3-wood shot for a double eagle on the par-5 seventh and finished with a 5-under 67 on Saturday for a share of the third-round lead in the Australian Masters tell me he didn't have a smile on his fave after that round and a chance to win the Australian Masters.

Allenby In The Hunt Down Under

Tell me the Australian fans would go nuts if an Australian like Allenby won the Australian Masters. Check out some highlights of Robert Allenby's round with interview as well. Enjoy.

Tim Clark Leads After 2 Rounds Australian Masters

South African Tim Clark leads the Australian Masters after two rounds with rounds of 67 and 70. He couldn't win on the PGA Tour this year we'll see if he can do it Down Under. Some highlights of his round with interview as well.

Browsing My Sports Action On My Laptop

I watch alot of TV like most people especially over the holidays. I've got my favorite shows that I record on my PVR through my LCD TV but I also watch alot of sports mainly on my Toshiba laptop some people just don't get it but when you run a few sports blogs like I do and you record up to the action from the PGA Tour, European Tour and all that fast passed NHL hockey action I find my laptop is where I like to watch. If I'm doing some video editing or some image editing from my digital camera I can do it all with my powerful laptop. I also like the fact that my laptop is portable if I have to go see a client I just put it into my case and I'm off. So if your sitting around this Thanksgiving season and your thinking of purchasing a new laptop check out Savebuckets . You can compare prices of laptops and more. So why not get those deals that save you money and still have a bit left over for yourself. Now that's what I'm talking.

John Daly Shot Of the Day Video

Nice shot John to bad you didn't make the cut at the Australian Masters.

Hockey fans are pretty loyal just like golf fans

I don't know about you but here in Canada we take our hockey pretty serious. From small towns to big cities everyone has their favorite teams and on game days you'll be able to know who peoples team is by the jersey they wear. It's always more difficult to tell with golfers who there favorite golfer is by the way they dress although a few might be able to tell who's a Jesper Parnevik fan or Tiger fan. I know with hockey, fans can get to screaming at their TV screens for the referee to get better eyeglasses because they miss a call. Hockey fans are pretty loyal just like golf fans.

Daly Gives Great Interviews - Australian Masters

I love the fact John Daly is so honest some players wouldn't give an interview after at 76 but John does and he's honest. You either love him or hate him there no gray area for most people when it comes to Daly.

John Daly Down Under At Australian Masters w/ Video

John Daly is playing Down Under at the Australian Masters this week his first round there(76) wasn't as good as his last round last week (a 62) so he'll have to scrap out a good score to make the cut. Check out some highlights below.

Adam Scott Highlights From HSBC Champions Tournament

I compiled this highlight video of Adam Scott's final round at the HSBC Champions tournament from some footage I had holes 12 through 15. Where Adam had a few nice par putts and a great lag putt. Although it wasn't the finish he would of liked a T6 is still cool.

Better Golf Videos - USB TV Tuner For My Laptop

I record alot of golf footage for this blog as well as video for my other blogs and it's come the point where it's been getting harder to record video because of the different applications I use and the restraints on them. Along with the inability of my current video card to record video straight from my t.v. Well I've been doing some research into USB Tv tuners and this might be the way to go most seem ok but with research I'm trying to find the best one for my current uses. Will keep you posted.

GM dumbs Tiger

When I first heard GM was dropping Tiger Woods as a sponsor my first reaction was not a big deal. Tiger has so many people wanting to sponsor him, a company will throw millions at him to put their logo on his bag. But the big picture is GM is not doing well as most companies in the States are feeling the pinch so having a high profile athlete as a sponsor or saving the company in the long run was a no brainer for GM. I'm sure this is happening throughout many facets of the golfing industry and elsewhere. I just feel bad for the guy with three kids and a wife who just lost their job and go out on his favorite score and let off a bit of steam with a game of golf with hi buddies.

Handyman Challenged

Since I've been on parental leave and my wife has gone back to work I've noticed a few requests from her that have had me looking in house design magazines and perusing various online resources to figure out just what she was talking about. One day she was talking about pendant fixtures the next about a wall sconce for the stairs down to the basement. Tomorrow it could be bidet faucets for the upstairs bathroom or pendant fixtures for the girls rooms. I can tell you everything there is to know about the new Titleist 909 drivers but this stuff I'm lost.

Lin Wen-tang Amazing Shot Wins UBS Hong Kong Open - Rory McIlroy Nice Shots Too

If you didn't see any of the playoff of the 2008 UBS Hong Kong Open there were some amazing shots by both the eventual winner Lin Wen-tang and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy. Lin ended up prevailing over Rory with some amazing shots on the 1st and 2nd playoff holes (Francesco was eliminated on the 1st hole). It was Lin Wen-tang first victory on The European Tour. Check them out below and enjoy could you hit this shot I'd say Lin could do it maybe 1 out of 1000 times. Amazing stuff.

Rory McIlroy Hits Titleist 909D2 Driver Into Water Twice

I love watching Rory McIlroy play he's young and still has lots to learn but he's definitely fun to watch hell he's 19 and he's a professional golfer. Last week at the end of his 3rd round he had a few wayward shots with his driver he did manage to salvage a 7 on the par 5 18th at the Singapore Open and a for the four ht round to leave him with a T4 finish.

Oliver Wilson 2nd Round UBS Hong Kong Open

Most people don't know who Oliver Wilson is even if they follow golf. Well if you don't you will soon as he's poised to win eventually with the way he's been playing. He has yet to win on the European Tour but a professional win is close at hand could be even this week at the UBS Hong Kong Open where the clip below is from. Oliver is also a member of this past year's Ryder Cup so you'll be hearing lots from this guy.

Rory McIlroy Using Scotty Cameron Fastback Prototype Tour Putter

I love this kid from Northern Ireland Rory McIlroy for a 19 year old kid sure has some game. I love his taste in putters in this video he's using a Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 Tour Putter. He always seems to a nice Scotty Cameron in the bag. Check it out from the 3rd round of the 2008 Singapore Open.

Used Clubs Can Be An Addiction

I tend to buy alot of stuff used from golf clubs (it's an addiction) to computer parts and peripherals. When I'm purchasing used products i do alot of research when buying because when it comes to buying especially on eBay you have to always be buyer beware. Whether you're into used cisco routers for your new office or notebook memory for your laptop or your looking to upgrade your old Callaway driver. Do your due diligence and research what your looking for sometimes a better deal may be buying used or maybe in the long run buying new is the way to go.

Darren Clarke Eagle Putt Attempt

Darren Clarke was playing last week in Singapore at the 2008 Barclays Singapore Open. Check out this putt during the final round. He ended up in tie for 18th.

A Cure For The Shanks - Not

You know how it seems like there's a pill for everything. Need to lose weight try these diet pills, trying to gain weight how about these. Balding try this pill can't sleep well try this one it will make you sleep like a baby. Sometimes it seems like we rely to heavily sometimes on a magic pill. Like I know if there was a pill I could take to swing like Tiger Woods I'd be all over it or I'm sure my favorite hockey team (who's on a bot of a losing streak right now) would love a pill to stop the loses. I guess sometimes a pill just won't do and we'll all have to suck it up.

Mills and Hearn Make It Throught To Final Stage Of Q School

Nice to see Canadians David Hearn and Jon Mills make it through to the final stage of Q School.

Hearn, finished in a tie for 12th in a 72-hole Second Stage qualifier at the Deerwood Golf Club in Kingwood, Texas, this past Saturday.

Hearn shot 1-over 73 in the final round, which was played in poor weather conditions to finish the competition with at 5-under 283. Mills shot 2-under 70 to tie for 15th and move on.

So it's off to La Quinta, Calif., to compete in the PGA Tour's final stage of qualifying for its 2009 season.

Improving My Household Skills

Since I've been on parental leave I've actually done a few things around the house that might get me some brownie points with the wife as well as improving my household skills beyond hammering nails. When the little guy is sleeping I've managed to get a few things done that weren't to taxing on my manly self.

I took off the old worn weather striping on my main door and replaced it. Voila no drafts better efficiency. Organized my work room by putting up hooks to hang the kids bikes. Used a pantry moth trap in my pantry to keep those darn moths out, also sealed the pantry where there were drafts. All these things were pretty simple you just have to start someplace.

Mahan Wins The 2008 Kiwi Challenge

Although we only got to see it this past weekend on NBC Hunter Mahan beat American Ryder Cup teammate Anthony Kim on the second playoff hole even though the Kiwi Challenge took place about a couple of weeks before.

Mahan shot 65 on the par-72 Cape Kidnappers course on New Zealand's North Island to tie Kim at 7-under par after the second and final round of the four-man tournament.

Mahan caught fire on the second day and Brandt Snedeker faltered on the back nine on the second after being in the lead after Day 1 . He ended up finishing 3rd with Adam Scott's putter failing him along with a few untimely shots. Check out some highlights below of the action.

Canadians At Q-School This Week - Brad Fritsch

No luck for Brad Fritsch in Texas
Manotick's Brad Fritsch after a first day 77 had two 69s but then a 76 derailed his chances from advancing to the third and final stage of qualifying next month at La Quinta, California. We'll keep an ear out to what tour Brad will be pursuing next season.

Anthony Kim Uses Scotty Cameron Studio Select T10 Putter

I've always liked Anthony Kim's putting stroke he just seems to see the putt and he goes ahead and hits the putt with no hesitation. Check out this video from Day 1 of the HSBC Champions tournament unfortunately he was later disqualified from this tournament after playing with an altered driver. His putter is a Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5 T10 Studio Select Tour.

Juggling My Son and My Blogs

I've now been on parental leave with m little guy now for about 6 weeks or so and I can honestly say it has been awesome. It's really hard work but it's great to see him grow up right in front of my eyes. Just in the last few days he's begun to crawl and I got to see it live. I've even been able to maintain my home business of looking after my golf blog and my two new hockey blogs. It really helps that being a webmaster to these sites can be done at any point of the day or night. I even still got to play a bit of golf.

Holiday Greetings With a Golf Twist

This time of the year when the golf season is pretty much over in the area and the snow is just around the corner it's time to think of the Holidays that are just a few weeks away. I send out alot of Christmas cards and I just came upon a great website that has a great selection of Golf Christmas Cards many more than you'd find in your local card store. You can customize a few of them with your holidays greetings picture on the front. Just think of it you can bug your buddies with a nice picture of you on the front on the hole where you got your hole in one or maybe a picture of your home course for your friends from the club. Ontheballgreetings.com has some great ideas for the holiday season give some golf fanatics some great golf Christmas greeting for this festive time of year.

Funny T-Shirt For My Next PGA Tour Event

With Christmas fast approaching most peoples thoughts turn to getting presents for the ones they love. One of the best presents I usually receive every so often are those sometimes politically incorrect t-shirts. You know those funny t-shirt that make most people laugh sometimes uncontrollably. You see those t-shirts a lot of hockey games but not at alot of golf events. I guess golf is more proper. Just for that I'm on the lookout for a t-shirt for my next golf event.

Golf Blog Marketing 101

I was thinking the other day how often golfers will pick up a pencil at the golf course to fill in their scores on the scorecard for the day and how having advertising on the pencil would be great for my blog. Like those promotional pens you get when your at a conference or seminar what a great way to get people to come to your site when they see your URL on a pencil. I was recently at a local course and they had a website on their plastic pencils that's what got me to thinking hey this could be some good swag marketing now I'd just have to convince a course to do it and get some cash to do it.

Anthony Kim DQ'd at HSBC Champions Event

Anthony Kim was disqualified Sunday from the HSBC Champions for playing with an altered driver. Not a great start for Anthony Kim and his induction to the European Tour. Kim accidentally hit a sprinkler head as he tapped his driver on the ground while walking down the seventh fairway. This is footage after the driver was damage and Kim finally being DQ. He unfortunately played a few more holes with the driver. Enjoy.

Explaining Golf Obsession

I finally got through to my wife in explaining my obsession with golf. It all centered around comparing my obsession with her obsession scrapbooking. She nevers seems to understand me trading and buying golf clubs, being able to remember to book golf but forget household things and being able to talk golf for hours if allowed. I reminded her about her about scrapbooking all is clear now.

Final PGA Tour Event Means Secure Your Card Or Else

Being a golf fanatic I still love this time of the year when players are scrambling to be in the top 125 to secure their full Tour privileges. You can really see some good desperation golf 5 of the last 6 weeks guys that have won have been outside of he top 125. Guys I'm sure are having some sleepless nights as well as weight loss and general anxiety. They're in Orlando this week but most guys won't be fixated on good ole Mickey they'll be firing at the pins for birdies and more money hopefully.

Soren Kjeldsen of Denmark Wins Volvo Master, Robert Karlsson Europe's #1 Golfer

Loren Kjeldsen of Denmark won the European Tour's season-ending event by two shots from Britain's Anthony Wall and German Martin Kaymer, leading the rain-disrupted tournament from start to finish and closing with a level-par 71 for an eight-under, 276, four-round total. He defeated a host of world class players and looked solid in every aspect of his game at Valderrama. He didn't let the weather get to him and he deserved it big time. Enjoy this video of the final putt, after round interview and trophy award.

Camillo Villegas F Bomb After Wedge Shot At Castello Masters

I love it when I get a video that shows the pros not so happy. This one of Camillo Villegas just shows the intensity this guy has even when playing a tournament in Spain (Sergio Garcica's) where he doesn't have alot to prove and is probably there more for a bit of a vacation. He hits his wedge shot and for most of us hackers we'd be happy with it for Camillo he's not so happy hence the f bomb.

Golf Sunnier Destinations

A lot of my golfing buddies go down to sunnier destinations once the snow starts to fly here in the Ottawa area. It was a bit crazy this past week as we got an early bit of snow. I'm always a bit jealous when they're booking to place like Myrtle Beach, various places in Florida, Arizona and elsewhere. It's crazy some of the guys have been even getting extra health insurance just in case something happens it just shows you how we're all aging when the guys are try to find North Carolina health insurance for a trip down to North Carolina instead of finding out where the good bars and the good golf shops are.
