FILA Golf Apparel Review: London Waterproof Wind Jacket

With the wet spring we’ve had here in the Ottawa area a good rain jacket has been a must for those of us addicted to the game of golf. It just so happens I’ve had the chance to test out the FILA London Waterproof WindJacket. I’ve always been impressed with FILA’s golf apparel here’s how the London jacket fared.

First Impressions
Out of the box the London Jacket looks pretty ordinary. More like a jacket your Dad might wear. Once you wear this jacket that's when it begins to impress. The London Waterproof Wind Jacket is very versatile I’ve worn it golfing, working at Rideau View Golf Club, and casually out and about.

The XL fit quite roomy than more form fitting golf jackets I’ve had the chance to review. There was definitely no resistance at any point during my golf swing.

 Waterproof Baby!
One of the great features of this jacket is the fact that it’s waterproof. FILA has done a great job by using a lightweight fabric (Body: 100% Polyester Mechanical Stretch & Lining: 100% Polyester) that is both certified waterproof as well as breathable allowing moisture to dissipate away from the fabric. FILA have used waterproof tape on seams that are more prone to water/wind exposure to get the utmost waterproofness.

From playing golf in the rain this spring to working part-time on the Turf Team at Rideau View Golf Club the London Jacket gets high marks in the waterproof category.

Nice Hood
Another plus from this jacket is that the FILA London waterproof wind jacket has a great hood. It is detachable but I left it on most of the time as it seemed to work perfectly over any caps I wore during rain showers or colder weather this spring. Good job FILA!

Conclusion
At $110 the London Jacket falls around the average price point of most golf jacket. With high marks for lightweight waterproof fabrics and versatility. FILA has done another nice job with it's London jacket.
