Golf Course Review: Waterview Golf Club

A fun Texas track for a buddies trip.

Located in Rowlett, Texas Waterview Golf Club was the third Course we played during the 2016 Dallas Invitational. We had another beautiful day for golf and the staff was both knowledgeable and friendly something that seems to resonate at all the golf courses we played in Dallas.

The conditions were good both tee and fairways but unfortunately the Bermuda grass greens were terrible. Many dead areas with bare patches. A weed, like crab grass seemed to have infiltrated the Bermuda greens. I'm not sure what was going on but it didn't detract from our golf experience.

Some bunkers were a little thin but on the most part playable. If you played by the appropriate tees they most definitely come into play.

Waterview was a fun course to play good generous fairways and enough challenge for all levels of golfers. Five sets of tees to choose from, including senior tees. Pick the right tees and you'll have a great experience at Waterview.

The layout is good none of the holes are awe inspiring it's just a good test of golf when you have a group of guys wanting a fun and challenging layout.

Some fun and challenging par 3s at Waterview including the 2nd hole. Left side here is a whole lot of trouble.

A great wide open par 5, the third hole challenge is your approach shot as you can see from this picture.

Everyone loves a good short par 4. The 5th hole is just that, good drive Craig.

Water is defintely in play on the 8th hole a fun par 3. Jim here played it safe and hit it out to the right.

Trees line the 11th hole a nice par 4. Even though there's houses close to the course they never really infringe on your golf game.

Tees and fairways were in good shape for a October round in Texas.

Mr. Fairway loved the 14th hole.

Another great drive from our host Don King.
