2018 CP Women's Open - Brooke Ready To Break 45-Year Spell

Couldn't make it there this year after Ottawa Hunt Club hosted it beautifully last year but the CP Women’s Open arrives in Regina at Wascana Country Club where the ladies will tee it up starting tomorrow.

Nice to hear the title sponsor Canadian Pacific has extended its commitment to Canada's event through 2023 and that Magna GC in Aurora, Ont., will be the host of the 2019 CPWO.

Brooke Henderson has got to be the favourite at ending the 45 year drought of a Canadian winning this Championship. She drives it long(7th) and she has no problems making birdies (3rd). If she just can improve her driving accuracy and get her putter hot there's no doubt she be close come Sunday.

She comes into the week after a Sunday 63 in Indianapolis garnered her a T7. Last years T12 in Ottawa was her best showing thus far in the National Women’s Open Championship.

Hamilton native Alena Sharp is using a bag adorned with the Humboldt Broncos logo this week at the CP Women's Open to pay tribute to the 16 lives lost in the April bus crash a few hours north of Regina.
