Nick Faldo Plays Some Golf In Hong Kong

Nice to see Nick Faldo playing in Hong Kong this week, it's rare that he plays any more as his duties as a golf broadcaster/analyst have taken him away from competitive golf. Also with his role as Ryder Cup Captain I'm sure he'll have his eyes on a few golfers as well. He even had a decent round today as he shot 68 or 2 under and is a few shots off the lead held by KJ Choi. Hopefully all this criticism about not being a team player will go away. Faldo Ryder Cup record speaks for itself: Faldo has played in the event a record 11 times and has claimed 25 points from 46 Ryder Cup matches. Enough said.

"I will get plenty of opportunities to see the players over the year - I am at 20 events with my television role. Right now they are in 'get out there and get on with it' phase. Things won't start tightening up for them and for me until September when I've got to make my two picks, the next real decision for me.

"It is early days, these guys are going to jostle like crazy for the next nine months or so and it will all come down to those last few months and how much they really want it. I can't do anything to influence anybody until I have my team, then it will be for me to pass on my 30 years of Ryder Cup experience."
