New York North Country Beckons For At Par Golf Packages

With so many amazing golf courses in the Ottawa area it's hard sometimes to look outside the box but last year I did it by finally playing a few of the spectacular golf courses in the Mont Tremblant area. Now New York in particular the North Country has peaked my interest. Offering Canadian packages at par, Malone, Saranac Inn, Tupper Lake, and Highland Greens golf course all look amazing. I've been to these areas before but haven't golfed. Can you say "golf road trip"?

New York North Country Golf Courses Offer Canadian Packages at Par

Malone, N.Y. — Canadian golfers have extra incentive to enjoy the North Country’s classic golf courses this year, as Malone, and Adirondack area courses are offering lodging and golf packages at par.

Participating golf courses include the 36-hole Malone Golf Club East and West courses designed by Robert Trent Jones and Donald Ross; the 18-hole Saranac Inn Golf & Country Club designed by Seymour Dunn; the 18-hole Tupper Lake Golf & Country Club designed by Donald Ross; and the 18-hole Highland Greens Golf Course.

“We look forward to welcoming our neighbors from the North again this year,” said Malone Golf Club General Manager Tom Siddon. “After all, we’re just a pitch and a putt from Ottawa and other Ontario communities!”

Jim Connors, owner of the immaculately-maintained Saranac Inn Golf Course, is optimistic about the season. “We hope that our Canadian and U.S. friends set a goal of visiting all of our courses this year,” he said. “Even this early, our course is already in great condition, which should translate into a nice long golf season.”

Packages are valid through the fall and include one or two-night accommodations, two or three days of unlimited golf, and guaranteed tee times when booked more than a week in advance. Golf bags will be stored for free at the clubs and the cart is free for the first round each day.
