UV Protection For All

When it comes to sun protection you don't want to mess around especially with your kids who have the most sensitive skin of all. If your like most people and your outside alot once the better weather arrives you really have to take steps to make sure your protected. My kids always hate when I'm lathering them up with sunscreen but I tell them I'm doing it so they have good skin the rest of there lives. Of course they don't fully understand because they're still young but it's all about being sun aware. Companies like SunSational Style that combines education with great UV protective clothing are out there to help you better protect yourself and your young ones. They have a great selection of swim wear and athletic wear that can be worn not only in the water but pretty much anywhere. There kids stuff is great with flashy color with great coverage for the ones that are totally oblivious to the sun and what it can do to your skin. It so hard to find nice looking swim wear and SunSational Style seems to know what looks good. Check out there site to better educate yourself and your kids and maybe you'll even find a new swimsuit.

Ryan Moore In His Own Words

Ryan Moore almost beat Adam Scott last week with a few more breaks he might of had his first PGA Tour win. His brilliant round of 68 on Sunday in tough conditions was awesome. He's definitely going to win soon if he remains healthy. He definitely has an unorthodox swing but it obviously works for him. Check out the following video of Ryan in his own words.

Bunker Shot a la Adam Scott

This week's EDS Byron Nelson Championship has seen its share of bunker shots. TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas is a tough course and you have to be able to get up and down out of the bunkers to win. Here's how it's done a la Adam Scott. Enjoy.

Computer Help The Fast Way

As I mentioned in a earlier post you can really want to pull your hair out when your computer is acting up and not working properly. If you can't seem to fix it yourself some times you have to call on a higher power. I'm talking a company like Fast-teks that will come to your place of business and fix your computer problem no matter how big or how small. There computer service
department is full of skilled technicians who will come right to your business or your home and get right to work to get your computer or computers back up and running so you have no down time. They're even affordable too.

Adam Scott 's Swing Video

Adam Scott is leading the EDS Byron Nelson Championship going into the final round. Will his three shot lead hold up or will somebody be able to catch him. His swing is pretty sweet to watch will it stand up today. We'll see.

Push Away From The PC

Most days I'm around a computer the majority of the day. Of course with being around computers you'll get those days where you want to toss the PC out the window or when I'm at work off the 6th floor roof. You know those days when you get the blue screen of death and you can't figure out why because you've recently ran the Windows defragment tool, your malware software, updated your antivirus and you haven't installed any new hardware or software. God some days I just wish we could go back to the old days of the simple dos command line. I think I'll start to push away from the computer and load my clubs in the car and go golfing. Sounds alot better than pulling out my remaining hair.

EDS Byron Nelson Championship Highlights

The first two rounds of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship from Irving Texas have been quite exciting with players grinding it out on a newly designed course. With the Texas winds playing havoc a various times during the the first two rounds score were high with the cut coming in at +3. Adam Scott is the leader with rounds of 68 and 67 with a host of players in pursuit such as Justin Leonard, Ryan Moore, Jesper Parnevik and Charley Hoffman just to name a few. Here's little video of highlights from the first two rounds.

Dumb Wesley Snipes

Reading about Wesley Snipes getting hit with a 3 year sentence for failing to file his taxes for 3 years (1999, 2000, 2001) had to make me laugh. Is this guy a complete idiot? A big action star that couldn't or wouldn't disclose his tax information to the government for those years. . It's financial reporting 101 Wesley, you do your taxes. I guess you should of got someone to look after this part of your life because it looks like you're being made an example of, for other high profile actors that this is definitely a no no.

Anthony Kim This Guy Is Good

Anthony Kim contended last week at the Verizon Heritage in South Carolina. This kid is the youngest player on the PGA Tour and he sure does have some game. I love his swing and he seems to be pretty calm out there. He shot a 71 for his finishing round last week to tie for 2nd pretty damn good. I'm sure a victory is just around the corner. I didn't pick him this week in any of my Fantasy Leagues I guess that was a good decision as I don't think he'll make the cut. Enjoy the videos below of his swing in motion and a nice approach from the Verizon Heritage.

Free Callaway Tour ix Golf Ball

You have to love it when a big golf company gives away some free balls. Just like Callaway has done on there Canadian website MyCallaway.ca. They arrived a few days ago and there the new Callaway Tour ix Golf Ball. I've played 2 and 3 piece balls but these bad boys are 4 piece.

Here's what Callaway says:
Tungsten-Infused Outer Core
The ball’s high-density outer core moves weight away from the center of the ball for increased moment of inertia (MOI) resulting in reduced driver spin for increased distance and accuracy.

Dual Core Construction
The ball’s dual core construction allows for great distance off the tee while still offering spin around the green. The lower compression inner core provides low spin off the driver for great distance while the higher compression outer core provides high chip-shot spin around the green.

I'll be playing them for my first round of the year tomorrow at the Meadows so I'll get back to you how they perform.

Spring Aches Golf Or Kid?

Ok I know I just turned 40 recently but that doesn't mean I'm suppose to have more aches and pains right? Lately I think I'm in need of some posture correction device. My back has been a bit out of whack lately. I guess I have been going to the golf range alot lately and I have been carrying my baby boy around alot on my days off. Then there's the Baby Bjorn I've been also carrying Gus around as well. Maybe it is my 40 year old bones that are in need of some rest.

Terrific Toronto Rocks

game or maybe taking in some theater presentation. If your planning on hitting the Toronto area for the Summer time season look no further than TerrificToronto.com fro a great resource for things to do in Toronto. Hey it might be a Blue JaysTerrificToronto.com's website has a wealth of information and things to do in and around Toronto all organized in an easy to read manner. Checking out some Toronto Movies then look at TerrificToronto.com's movie section and find out whether the Scotiabank Theatre Complex or the IMAX at the Science Centre is more to your liking. I know I'll be checking it out before my visit in July.

Golf Course Openings In Full Swing

Well after a winter that never seemed it would end, golfers can rejoice because with all this great weather lately about a dozen or so courses opened up last week and this past weekend as well. Among them are:
Calabogie Highlands Golf Resort
Camden Braes
Canadian
Carlbeck
Cedar Glen
Champlain
Dragonfly
Kingsway
Les Vieux Moulins
Lombard Glen
Mapleview
Manderley
Mountain Creek
Pineview
Raceview
Trillium Wood
And it looks like Meadows and Metcalfe will be open as well this week.

Earth Day Tomorrow

With Earth Day being tomorrow it got me to thinking about little things that can be done to make things a little more Earth friendly. I always plant a garden every year but this year I'm extending my garden to be at least double the size. I always compost in the spring and summer as well but I'm also going to look into rain barrels to catch the rain for purposes like my garden. At my work they're always recycling old CAT6 wire, old PCS and monitors and the like. Well I'm bringing in a bunch of old computer stuff to add to that type of recycling. I guess everything helps even the little things.

Finally Bought Some Golf Shoes

Well I finally got to choosing some golf shoes after about a week of searching. Nothing was really feeling just right. I tried on an Adidas University II which was quite nice and comfy but they didn't have a size 13. So finally got a chance to go to Golf Town today and after trying on a few pairs it was looking like no success. Then at the end I spied last year's Adidas Tour Traxion in all black which isn't a color I would normally choose. Well they fit great and they were on sale which was a bonus. So I managed to get out of there with some new shoes and some new black Footjoy socks. Now I just have to get my wife some Dansko clogs. Not a bad trade off.

DirectBuy Deals

I've always had a Costco membership and have always seen a lot of value in it. Some friends had recently redecorated there whole house with DirectBuy and had saved a bundle. I guess that's the way to go when your getting that much furniture. You can get brand-name manufactured red furniture at wholesale prices, plus shipping and handling. DirectBuy is located in both the U.S. and Canada and seems to be the place to purchase some deals.

Equipment #s From The Masters

It was interesting to see Golfweek magazines breakdown of the numbers for equipment for last week's Masters. Equipment leaders by category at The Masters. Here's the breakdown:

DRIVERS: TaylorMade 28, Titleist 15, Callaway 11, Ping 11

FAIRWAY WOODS: TaylorMade 41, Titleist 38, Callaway 37

It's obvious Titleist is definitely the leader when it comes to golf equipment for the pros.

Performance Review Of My Golf Blog

This is hard to believe but this is my 1000h post on this blog. Pretty darn good that I've been keeping this blog going now for well over three years but really hard core for about the last year. January 2005 was the first post. How would I rate this blog like one of those performance reviews you get at work. Well I'd definitely give me an A for effort with some room for improvement in the writing area which is always a work in progress. I think the addition of videos has helped get a few new readers and I'm aways trying new things when it comes to generating new income with the blog. All in all I'm looking forward to the next year and many more years to come.

First Driving Range Visit OF The Golf Season

Well it had to be done and yesterday was the day. We've been getting some sweet weather lately and some golf courses are opening up and of course some driving ranges. So yesterday at lunch I got the clubs out of storage and made my way to the 19th tee where I whacked around a medium bucket with the sun gleaming in the sky. What a great day after such a long winter. With the temperature today again around 24 degrees and more courses opening my first round of the year is definitely getting closer.

Mountain Bike Or Exercise Bike?

I'm at the moment trying to figure out whether to buy an exercise bike for inside or just a regular mountain bike. My kids are a little older now and want to bike lots so I'm kinda leading towards the mountain bike. I've always had one it's only been in the last 10 years I haven't had one and have always enjoyed one. Exercise bikes are good and all it just might be better to purchase one once the colder weather comes back.

Rare Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Centershaft Putter!!!

The guys over at the GolfWRX forum brought this putter to everyones attention yesterday it is no longer for sale today as the owner has 'ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale." It's certainly a hack job of a Scotty Cameron putter. I think most people would agreed. Here is a snippet of the listing:

The job was done after market .Its nicely balanced and putts great. It has a steel shaft 34 inches with a Cameron red dancing putter grip.

Come with Scotty cameron pro plat grey head cover

***This unique putter is a "must have" for the discriminating Scotty Cameron fan*

Add this COOL Cameron putter in your bag. Don't miss this chance. Begin from one cent!!!

Some have said they've seen it before on eBay. It's definitely a unique putter that's for sure.

More Memory For More Golf Pictures

Ok I'm in the market for a another SD memory card for my digital camera as I'm gearing up for the golf season and I tend to take alot of pictures of the courses I play. So my 512MB card just isn't cutting it and I'm thinking about adding a 2GB card. So it looks like the best buy is at Buy.com for SD memory these days. $10 for a 2GB card is pretty great at that price I might get 2.

Fantasy Picks - Verizon Hertage @ Hilton Head

This week's stop on the PGA Tour sees the pros at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head South Carolina. There will be 25,00 FedEx Cup Points up for grabs as well as a purse of $5,500,000 ($990,000 Winning Share). The Heritage has been a mainstay on tour for awhile , with alot of marshy areas for any wayward shots on the back nine and small greens throughout. It's a shorter course under 7000 yds. so you don't have to be a bomber to win. My picks are basically based on who plays well here so here they are:
Ernie Els
Aaron Baddeley
Jim Furyk
Stewart Cink
Jerry Kelly
Stephen Ames
Darkhorse-My man Jesper Parnevik

Golf Stuff Or Geek Stuff?

Like I was saying in a recent post it was recently my birthday and I received quite a few gifts mainly because it was one of those milestone birthdays(The Big 4-0). Well now I have all this cash and gift certificates to buy some gifts for myself. The pressure is on do I blow it all on golf stuff, I really need golf shoes or do i blow it on some geek stuff. It would be real cool to get a new LCD monitor. I think I'll have to head to Golf Town tomorrow to make my decision easier. Golf Shoes baby.

Trevor Immelman Get His Letterman Topic

You knew it was going to happen today Trevor Immelman gets to do the Letterman show. Of course he gets to read the Top Ten List on the “Late Show.”

The topic was “Ways Trevor Immelman’s Life Has Changed Since Winning the Masters.” The list included:

10. I’ve been elevated from “unknown” to “obscure.”

6. President Bush called to congratulate me on winning Wimbledon.

5. When my caddy recommends a club I can say, “Excuse me, how many Masters have you won?”

1. Get to put my arm around Tiger Woods and say, “Maybe next year.”

Enjoy another video of Trevor Immelman's Sunday Round.

Turning 40

So this past weekend I turned 40 years old, now I'm certainly not a virgin but leaving my 30s feels ok because they were great and I look forward to my 40s. The only thing that scares me is I noticed my wife had a life insurance quotes sites bookmarked on our main laptop and I kinda got scared. We already have insurance is she planing to get more insurance and then off me or am I just getting paranoid in my old age. Maybe I'm just getting stir crazy because no golf courses are open yet and I'm getting the itch. Oh! I'm going to love my forties.

Easy Tee Times For Your Favorite Golf Courses

I don't know about you but it is starting to look alot more like golf season. It looks like it could be around the corner as the snow is melting and my kids have even pointed out that we have a few daffodils and tulips springing out of the ground. That means the maintenance staff is probably getting out there trying to get everything all green and sparkly on the various golf courses in the area. The excitement is infectious as many of my golf buddies are already pre-booking there tee times online. This is the way to go as far as reserving tee times as most courses have some sort of system set up to make it easy to book on the Internet in advance for a foursome or whatever needs you have. What would we of done before the advent of the Internet booking tee times is so hassle free.

I even have a few friends that are booking there tee times through AmericanGolf.com at a few California golf courses. Those lucky guys look like they'll be getting a few games in on a business trip next week to sunny California. I just hope it's as nice here as it will probably be here, as I don't want to hear the razzing. Who would of thought LA tee times would be so easy to get for an out of State golfer traveling on business but AmericanGolf.com made it easy. They booked with Los Verdes Golf Course and Mountain Meadows Golf Course in a matter of minutes and they’re thinking of doing it again when they do business down in New York State next month. So not only does AmercianGolf.com book courses in California but they do other states like New York, North Carolina, Arizona, Virginia and Hawaii just to name a few. Booking New York tee times is very handy when you golf in a variety of States and you don't want the hassle of having to contact each individual golf course.

So now hopefully my buddies won't get to much golf in before the golf courses around here open because of course they'll have an advantage and I may lose a bit of cash early in the season. But I don't care as least we'll be golfing and I can always go to the range and get a few range sessions in. I hope wherever you are the snow is melting and it's actually starting to look like spring and your booking your first tee times of the season. Happy Golfing!

Brandt Snedeker Cries During Interview -Masters 2008

Oh! the agony of defeat best displayed yesterday after Trevor Immelman defeated Brandt Snedeker, Tiger Woods and the rest of the field for his first major and the second green jacket won by a South African. You have to feel for Brandt Snedeker after battling for 4 days and having a rough round on Sunday to lose the Masters. He loses it during the interview only 15 minutes or so after hitting his last putt check it out here.

Golf Books And More For Vacation Time

This is the time of year I put together my list of books that I want to purchase for my upcoming summer holidays. I like to have a wide variety of books and novels. I do of course put together a list of a few golf books that I haven't read yet. I know I'm going to try to borrow John Daly's book from a buddy for sure and maybe one from David Feherty. I also usually get a few mystery type books like the 7th Heaven book from James Patterson or another similar type of novel. Then with a few more magazines I'm pretty much ready for the vacation come July and August.

Tiger Woods Will Have To Improve Play To Win Masters

Not that Tiger has been playing bad but he just hasn't got any breaks and has missed a few putts along the way this week at the Masters. It will be interesting to see if he can catch the leaders when he started the round today he was 6 shots back and now at 3:35pm he's just made a birdie to get back to -5 and is 5 shots off the lead held by Trevor Immelman. He'll need some shots like he had back in 2005, enjoy the Masters Moments below.

Golf Cart Buying Resource

Electric golf carts are not only popular on the golf course but also popular with people who just want to get around their community or homestead or even people with disabilities trying to get around there University campus. Their applications are really endless. I worked at a golf course for a couple of seasons and alot of maintenance had to go into the fleet of electric golf carts. They generated alot of cash as they were an important part of the golf course as a business and that particular course had alot of riders instead of walkers. These golf carts were pretty expensive new so most owners were always looking for a good reliable cart that didn't put them in the poor house. Not cheap just affordable you might say.

A great resource similar to alot out there relating to automobiles can be found at BuyerZone.com they have it set up so a buyer can make an informed choice when it comes to buying an electric golf cart for a golf course or for personal use. There free price quote will give you a great idea of what you might have to spend because after filling out the questionnaire up to 4 dealers will get back to you concerning your request. This request stems from only answer about 15 questions relating to your specific needs. What a great way to do some serious price shopping.

I've also found with my experiences that alot of golf course owners don't know alot about the type of electric golf carts available and BuyerZone helps you with that also with an extensive buyer's guide full of advice and ideas and education relating to your purchase. How could it hurt to find out about golf cart basics, how to choose the right model, kinds of golf carts, buying tips, and how to choose a dealer. This will only help in your final decision right?

BuyerZone really helps with those hard decisions that relate to purchasing a golf cart like whether to purchase a gas powered cart or electric powered. Sometimes a little info about a certain brand of utility vehicles or golf carts can make the decision process alot easier. If you’re looking at purchasing a golf cart stop by BuyerZone for tons of information relating to carts. BuyerZone’s helpful State by State dealer finder is a no brainer and can really make narrowing down where to look easy.

The Masters- Every Golfers Dream

With the final round of the Masters today who will today and take home the green jacket? A first time major winner, someone who has one a green jacket before or someone you least expected.

I Think I Jinxed Freddie Couples

I think I jinxed poor old Freddie Couples I just happen to pick him this week in my numerous Fantasy Golf Leagues, how couldn't you with his great record at Augusta plus he's been playing well the last few weeks. Of course he had a chance Couples missed a 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th green Friday. So he misses the cut at Augusta by one shot breaking a 23 year streak well know he share a record with Gary Player for the record for most consecutive Masters cuts made at 23. Nice going lads. Sorry Freddie I didn't mean to do that to you. Start another streak next year.

Spring Vacation To Recharge The Batteries

Spring is always a good time to re energize your batteries and take a little vacation. I know a few years ago a vacation I took to the Chicago area really replenished my energy after a long cold winter here in Canada. I remember that great little road trip because it consisted of playing golf and taking in some Major League baseball. We drove down in a couple of days taking our time and the first course we played was a lovely track outside of Chicago called Chalet Hills Golf Club. A beautiful natural style golf course with lots of old oak trees, a few I remember hitting unfortunately. We also played on the way home played Glenwoodie Golf Club which was a real treat as this course was a pleasant surprise some hard greens to read and a great mix of holes especially #16. In between the games of golf I sandwiched in a few Chicago Cubs baseball games which was always a dream of mine. All in all these types of vacation can really make you forget there really was a winter. There are all kinds of things to do in Chicago and a good resource to contact is Trusted Tours & Attractions who have a contest going on right now where you can win a handheld GPS system just by signing up for there newsletter. So check out there sightseeing tours today and think about taking a spring vacation like I did awhile back. This year I'm interested in Things to do in Las Vegas so I'll get back to you.

Tiger Woods A Far Piece Back At Masters After Second Round

The focus will still be on Tiger Woods today as he tries for his 5th green jacket but can he come back from a pretty huge deficit. The leader Trevor Immelman is at -8, Brandt Snedeker is at -7 and Mickelson at -5 as well. Tiger is a -1 and would need a huge day to get back into contention or the leaders to really falter today or maybe a combination of the two. It will be very interesting to see what unfolds today but one thing is certain Tiger the number one player in the world will be ready, will the rest of the field be. Stay tuned.
Enjoy this clip from the second round, Tiger's approach to #8 at Augusta. He'll need a few of these on the weekend.

Cheap Flights For Your Golfing Pleasure

As a father of 3 kids and a wife that likes to shop I have to be a bit diligent when it comes to purchasing airline tickets for any sort of pleasure travel. You know what I'm talking about cheap flights. I don't want to have to pay high prices when I'm booking some early season golf down in Myrtle Beach or Florida. I want cheap flights and airline tickets with no hassles. I've just discovery TargetVacations.ca and they make it easy to get discount airfares with there easy to use search feature. Whether I'm looking for a last minute deal or whether I'm trying to book a cheap flight booking later in the year, Target Vacations helps make the process easy and hassle free. They're Canadian so I know what I'll be paying without having to convert a huge bonus when your booking multiple tickets. Now my wife is asking about a trip to visit her best friend in B.C. well I guess it's back to Target Vacations to search for a cheap flight.

Masters Highlights From Round Two

Well this Masters is shaping up to be quite the interesting weekend with alot of players within a few shots of the leader Trevor Immelman of South Africa. Anyone could still win with two tough rounds to go at Augusta. This video clip is of a few good shots from Ian Poulter who is at -5, Lee Westwood who is a -2, Padraig Harrington +1, and Justin Rose who is also at +2 after a tougher second day shooting 78.

Tiger Woods Masters Highlights Video w/ Interview

Everyone after the first round I'm sure was interested in how Tiger did and with a round of 72, not bad but for him it must of been a bit frustrating, as he hit some good shots he just didn't get alot of luck here and there. I'm sure his round today will have some birdies unlike his round yesterday that had all pars except for 2 bogeys and an eagle. The weather looks beautiful again today and golf lovers will be glued to the T.V.

Separate Account For Golf Clubs

Sometimes I think I should just a have savings account on the side to be able to afford all the expensive toys that are used for the this crazy sport we call golf. I know you can always get deals on used golf clubs on the Internet and many of my clubs are bought through this manner but it all adds up. Especially when those golf club manufacturers are always bombarding us with all those ads both in print and on T.V. about the latest and greatest driver or wedge or irons. How is anyone suppose to maintain there sanity and bank accounts.

Ian Poulter's Hole In One Day 1 At The Masters - Ace and Interviews

Having never had an ace before I can only imagine what it would be like. Take today at the Masters Ian Poulter hits a lovely shot on #16 at Augusta and drains it for a hole in one. You can tell from the end of the video from the interviews this guy was pumped still. He's a very emotional player and after shooting a 70 at Augusta with an ace he was a wee bit excited. We look forward to seeing how he does the rest of the week.

Masters Par 3 Contest Today

No player has ever won the Masters after winning the Wednesday Par 3 Contest at Augusta. Is it a curse? Some would say yes others just like it for what it is, a fun time when your kids can caddie for you. Just ask Phil Mickelson. Tiger Woods won't be playing this year again as he finds it to distracting. Come on Tiger we want to see you, I betcha once your daughter gets a little bigger you'll be back out there. Check it out today from 2-5pm EST. Til then enjoy this video of players talking about the Par 3 Contest and why they really love/hate it.

Golf Can Be Exercise

My wife always bugs me saying that golf isn't exercise and you'll never lose weight playing golf. Now I know many people have this opinion put I beg to differ if you don't take a cart all the time and walk golf can be a great way to lose weight and get that heart pumping you just have to be conscious of walking briskly(ok fast) to your ball after hitting it. Let me tell you this will get the old heart going. If your home course is hilly even better as this uphill jaunt will work those hamstrings. Oh ya one of the most important things is you have to play golf regularly 3-4 times a week. Now I just have to run this last one by my wife. Wish me good luck.

Tiger Woods -Masters Moments

There's no denying Tiger Wood's love of Augusta National and the Masters. When you look at his record of 4 wins there starting in 1997 and his 8 top ten finishes having played 13 times times. How could Tiger not be the favorite every time he plays Augusta. Someone this week will have to a have a pretty amazing week (see: Zach Johnson last year) to beat Tiger. I know I'll be glued to the T.V.
Enjoy the video compilation of Tiger at Augusta in 1997 and 2001. Enjoy!

Golf As A Career

I don't no whether you have but at different times in my life I've questioned the different paths I've taken and taken the positives and negatives from that soul searching to make my life more positive. One aspect of my life I revisit occasionally is my career path and the different places it has taken me. I've always thought it would be great to have something you love to do like a hobby or a sport as your career. Wouldn't that be a concept, a career that is more like a hobby not a job. Of course for me that would be a golf career. One that would of course involve some sort of training at one of the many great golf schools in the U.S. I'm talking one like the San Diego Golf Academy(SDGA). There two year degree program with a Golf Complex Operations and Management component, with two areas of emphasis: Golf Professional and General Golf Management would be the type of course most golf enthusiast would jump at applying to right? Can you imagine having to choose which one of the four campuses to go to. Maybe Orlando or Myrtle Beach or I hear Phoenix or San Diego is pretty nice too. Wouldn't that be a nice choice to make. You can even get a Bachelor's Degree in golf through a partnership SDGA has with Virginia College. Picking a golf college seems pretty easy when it comes to SDGA as they're one of the oldest golf colleges in the U.S. with over 30 years of experience. Hey maybe there's hope for me yet you can always switch careers right regardless of your age. Golf college here I come.

Another Tough Fantasy Golf Week

Another horrible week for my Fantasy Golf Picks as a relative no name (Johnson Wagner) won the Shell Houston Open. Although no one had him alot of people had Adam Scott who because of a virus had to withdraw after the 2nd round. Who would of though a guy who shoots 63 the first day wouldn't even finish the tournament. Here's how my other players did:
Hunter Mahan- a second round 75 caused him to miss the cut
Adam Scott- WD
KJ Choi-T11
Steve Stricker- T11
Phil Mickelson- T23
Padraig Harrington- T26
Stuart Appleby- T23

NHL Hockey Playoff Teams Decided

Well playoff hockey begins this week so most Canadians will be glued to the TV or at the game cheering on there teams. Ottawa will have a tough battle without there best player, Alfie and one of there toughest, Mike Fisher but we believe here in Ottawa and we'll be ready, Pittsburgh better be. Here's the teams with date sand time to be announced.

Spring Clean Your Backyard Furniture

With it actually starting to look like Spring and some warmer temperatures around the corner and people are doing more activities outside, do you ever just get tired of your outdoor furniture and wish you could just press a button and get a whole new look. You know your sitting in your old beat up outside lounge chair after playing a nice round of golf and you wish you were sitting in a newer comfier chair. I'm talking some of that nice teak furniture, one of those sweet teak loungers with the nice comfy pads that would look sweet this spring. Now I just have to run it by the "wife".

Which Golf Shoes?

This season I'll be needing some new golf shoes as the ones I've been using for about the past 7 years have finally bit the dust, although they're still in my basement. I bought them when I lived in B.C. at Nevada Bobs a nice pair of Bite golf shoes. They were brown leather and real comfortable and I like them alot partly because they didn't really look like your standard golf shoes. So now my search will begin and here are a few I've got my eyes on:
Bitevibe AC- looks like a cross training running shoes made by Bite
Oakley New Tye - a brown golf shoes similar to the one I owned the last 7 years.
FootJoy Golf Athletics Golf Shoe- FJ #1 Shoe on Tour
I'm also looking into maybe some Pumas the search continues.

Property For A Golf Course?

Have you ever wished you'd bought that cheap land for sale back a few years ago and now it's doubled in price. Certain pieces of land if properly invested in can turn a large profit depending on the type of zoning and where the property is located. I know a few places I've seen before would make a great golf course of course a huge investment but it's funny how as an avid golfer we see "golf course" when we see a cheap piece of land.

Scotty Cameron Red X3 *****Star Rating By GOLF Magazine

Nice to see Scotty Cameron's Red X3 receive the five-star award. GOLF Magazine’s gave it the highest rating for puttersin the Midsize Mallet Putters Club Test category. It was posted on the ever popular ScottyCameronBlog

The head is in tune with the shaft and the stroke flows like water. You can tell when you hit it off-center, but not in a harsh way. It puts a pure roll on it; putts stay on their intended line, they don't hop or skip. Its precision-milled, stainless steel body features a new, glare-resistant finish. Better players, in particular, will appreciate its tight handling, like a European sports car.

Fantasy League Fun

I love Fantasy Sports League whether it's baseball in the Spring, hockey in the Winter or golf year round. It's always fun to be in a competitive league with good prizes. I like being able to predict who's going to well by going over present and past stats and making those perfect baseball picks, golf picks or football picks that make your fellow competitors envious. I usually get alot of my info from cruising around various sports forums like the one Addict Sports runs. They have alot of people on that forum that really know there stuff when it comes to the Major Leagues. Baseball is such a stats driven sport and with such a long history, it has the huge following. Addict Sports baseball and football forums can give you the upper hand when it comes to making picks for your Fantasy Leagues. Register today and get your daily dose of sports picks help.

Nice Pitch From Jesper Parnevik

Jesper Parnevik is one of my favorite golfers and here's a little clip from last week's Zurich Classic Of New Orleans where he scrambles for a birdie on #18. Although he didn't make the cut he had a good 2nd round and that's obviously carried over into this week's Shell Houston Open where he opened with a 69 tied for 13th going into the second round of play.

Go South Young Man For Golf

When your golf obsessed sometimes you can't wait for the snow to melt on the courses fast enough. So you have to head south to find golf courses that are opened right. Some guys locally are thinking Syracuse might be an option or others have booked there Myrtle Beach Golf weeks months ago. Well who would of though I'd suggest the area of the Smoky Mountains near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Well they've got some pretty decent golf courses in the area like the Arthur Hill designed River Islands Golf Club. Lots of challenges here as this course has numerous holes crossing or playing along the French Broad River plus it has 4 holes located on islands in the middle of the river. Talk about a challenge. You can always stay in one of those Pigeon Forge cabins that are full of that Tennessee flavor and can save you a bundle so that means more golf right. Think about it and it's in the 70s there right now.
