Phil Mickelson, Mike Weir, Sergio Garcia Tee Shots #12 Memorial

A star studded trio teed off together the first 2 rounds of the 2008 Memorial. See their tee shots below from the #12 at Muirfield Village. After two rounds Phil Mickelson is at +3, Sergio is a +5, and Mike Weir is at -1.

Extra Hard Drive For My Golf Videos

I do lots of work on my computer and I've found lately that my Toshiba laptop's 80 gig hard drive is filling up at a fast rate. I have lots of golf videos that I post here that take up alot of space as well as family pictures and golf course related pictures on my laptop's drive. I've always been in the habit of burning any of my important files on CDs but this has can sometimes become a little tedious. I also have a 2 gig flash drive but that is just temporary storage and it's tiny as far as storage goes.

I think I'm going the route that my mother-in-law went awhile back and purchase a larger portable storage device. She went with a Western Digital My Passport portable hard drive because of it's compact size, large storage capacity and easy portability. So now I'm trying to find one on sale.

It looks like Buy.com's Weekly Deals has come through again as they have a Western Digital 320GB My Passport Essential USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive for sale and it's a steal listed at $129.99. It can transfer files fast as it's USB 2.0 so for someone like me that needs to be able to spend time with my wife and three kids, fast is a good thing. I also like the intense blue colour of the portable hard drive as it matches my Toshiba laptop. Again Buy.com offers free shipping so that makes my decision pretty easy.

Kenny Perry Is At It Again

His swing reminds me of my father-in-law hell he even kinda looks like my father-in-law, Kenny Perry is at it again this week and doing what he usually does hitting lots of fairways and making lots of birdies. He's probably the hottest golfer lately but he he may burn out soon as he's been playing almost every tournament lately trying to make the Ryder Cup team. I think he's even scheduled to play next week before the US Open. If he wins this week I'm sure he'll take off next week. Check out this shot from the first round of the Memorial.

For The Golfer That Likes To Get Dirty

I'm pretty sure most avid golfers at some point in their golfing life think about taking up the art of club making or at the very least changing their own grips when they get used up. It obviously takes some some mechanical aptitude for the harder things to do in club making but I guess most that take it up just want to get their hands wet. You can go a bit crazy I can see with air tools to extract your grips off your clubs in a matter of seconds to high speed sander and saws for those more difficult jobs. I hope to start this season to replace my own grips after that I'm not promising anything.

Mathew Goggin Leads After Day 1 Memorial 2008

Nice to see Mathew Goggin has a good perspective after shooting a nice round of 65 on the first of the 2008 Memorial.

"Couple of times this year [I've led after the first round]. I've learned that it means absolutely nothing. And it's just -- it gets you in a good position obviously to be around when it really counts."
Check out his pretty shot on #12.

Go Freddie

Had to pick Freddie Couples this week as one of my Fantasy picks with a great record at the Muirfield Village how can I go wrong right? He's had 6 top 10s in 10 appearances and won it back in 1998 plus it looks like he might be heading to the Canadian Open in July. Couples will hopefully bomb it around the course and make some birdies this week. Check out his swing from the 12th hole during the first round.

Trying To Improve The Short Game

I don't know about you but don't you hate when one aspect of your game is working but the other is not existent. Well case in point I've played about 5 rounds this year and my driver has been really consistent something I struggle with last season. So you'd think hitting more fairways would translate into better scores not so. My scores haven't been terrible it's just I know they could be better and it's my short game that's letting me down. Not my putting as my last round I only had 28 putts. It's my short iron play and my wedge game. I know how to correct it ever year I practice alot in my backyard those little chip and pitch shots that you need to score well. Well this season I've been neglecting this and I think I've only practiced once to far this year. So I'm going to move that teak outdoor furniture, barbecue and kids toys away and start to practice those short game shots. I know I won't get as good as Mickelson but I have to start to improve or I'll pull the remaining hair on my head.

Fantasy Picks For The 2008 Memorial Tournament

Well my picks for the last few weeks have been pretty horrible. I might get the winner but most of my other picks would stink the bed then there are some weeks that I'm just horrible. Let's see if I can change it this week at Jack's tournament. These are my players for the week with their rank after round 1.

Phil Mickelson T36 (E)
Sergio Garcia T36 (E)
Jeff Quinney T20 (-1)
Kenny Perry T2 (-6)
Geoff Ogilivy T11 (-3)
Fred Couples T36 (E)
Stewart Cink T20 (-1)

RCGA Planning Some Changes

Nice to see the RCGA planning on a few changes at this year's Canadian Open at Glen Abbey. They've again charter a plane to flight players back from the British Open but this time the twist is you have to play the damn tournament no more hitchhikers. A definite positive step now they just need to get some Top 50 players and it looks like that is coming together nicely, they announced earlier in the week that they'll be getting the following players: defending champion Jim Furyk, Jeff Quinney, Boo Weekley, Ryuji Imada, and J.B. Holmes agreeing to come to Canada after the British Open. Of course Mike Weir and Stephen Ames will be there as well as Fred Couples, 2005 champion Mark Calcavecchia, Chris DiMarco, Retief Goosen and Sean O'Hair. Can you say better then last year. I'm volunteering this year a the Canadian Open so the more the better for myself and golf fans across this country. The RCGA has also booked Canadian acts Blue Rodeo, 54/40 and Tom Cochrane to play on a stage set up in the spectators village at Glen Abbey after the third round of the tournament. Nice.

Secure Those Clubs

I've heard some horror stories of golfers bringing their clubs with them on longer golf outings and not ever seeing them again or the clubs being damaged. I've never had the opportunity to take a flight to a golf destination before and actually take my clubs so I've never had to deal with this kind of loss. I know we're talking about golf clubs here but can you imagine having your clubs damaged or lost. You get a travel bag with a couple of tsa locks and your think your clubs are safe. I guess you just have to make them as secure as possible and hope for the best sometimes.

Phil Mickelson Wins 2008 Colonial With Amazing Gap Wedge On #18 Converts Birdie

Phil was up to his old tricks Sunday with some beautiful short game wizardry including an amazing gap wedge to 9 feet on the 72nd hole of the tournament. He convert the putt for birdie and defeated Tim Clark and Rod Pampling by one shot. Phil made 65 of 73 putts within 10 feet I guess he's got his putting back. Check out his shot on 18 as well as some other highlights.

Phil Mickelson -Approach on #11- These Guys Are Good

Sometimes these PGA Tour pros hit some amazing shots check out Phil Mickelson's approach shot on #11 in round 1. It's his second shot into a par 5. 256 yds to the green, 283 yds to the hole and he hits an iron to within about 15 feet. He doesn't get the eagle but settles for par. Nice shot Phil!

Online Shopping Made Easy

I do alot of my shopping online most notably my golf stuff. Clubs, balls, grips and clothes can be found for cheap if you know where to search out those great retailers that have the good deals. I love it when I come across a new resource to make my online shopping experience a little easier. Right now golf is obviously high on the list but I do love to garden and that also has been my focus as of late as well.

At Shopping.com UK they really arrange in a clear manner their gardening stuff. If I want to search by brand or type of gardening tool. It's easy and they can help you find those hard to find items like those cool tomato planters that makes planting tomatoes so much easier. Shopping.com UK is a great little shopping search engine for not only gardening things but a host of other things like golf clubs, computer accessories, DVDs and just about anything electronic you can think of, try it today.

MIckelson Stills Leads After Round 3 Of The 2008 Colonial

Phil Mickelson still leads the Colonial after 3 rounds and although he was a little shaky starting in round he went -4 on his final 9 holes to post another solid 65. The talk this week is how many wedges Phil is carrying, it is 5 and they are 47, 50, 55, 60 and 64 degrees. Whatever works for you Phil he is fun to watch. Enjoy the highlights from his 3rd round including an interview at the end as well.

Note To Golfers Make Sure You Know What's In Your Energy Drink

It was interesting to here that the British Open will delay testing for performance-enhancing drugs until next year's Open Championship. The reason; to make sure golfers are fully educated about the program. The drug testing education had started in January at the Sony Open on the PGA Tour and has been ongoing all year with the Tour. Alot of players feel it is unnecessary and Frank Lickliter has one of the best comments going when he stated:

"If anyone comes to my house to test me they're going to get a bullet in the (backside) while they're on my property."
The PGA Tour and the European Tour will start testing at the beginning of July, almost three weeks before the Open at Royal Birkdale near Liverpool on July 17-20.

It's definitely going to fall on the shoulders of the players to make sure they know what they're putting in their bodies. If your taking any bodybuilding supplements or any dietary or nutritional supplements, or even energy drinks you have to know what's in them and if they're banned stop using them. immediately. It will be interesting to see if the education works and anyone gets caught.

Tim Clark's Near Ace At 2008 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial

I have yet to get an ace and have never really come all that close. During the 1st round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Tim Clark hit a beautiful shot that almost when in for an ace, Number 13 a 181yd par 3 can be an intimidating hole especially if your ball is short or the winds gets it going left or right. I don't know how many aces Tim has in his career but he sure wanted that one.

Phil Mickelson Leads Through 2 Rounds Of 2008 Colonial

Not surprising Phil Mickelson is leading after 2 rounds of the 2008 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. He's got 5 wedges in his bag this week as well as a hot putter a good combination on a tough course in Forth Worth, Texas. He'll have to continue over the weekend as there's a huge group at -6,-5 and -4. Enjoy this video of Phil's first round.

Wii Golf Here I Come

I'm not a big video game guy. Even when they first came out in arcades I was always one to play the newest pinball game instead. When the first console games came out I remember having an Atari for awhile which I liked except I can only remember really playing Chopper Command. These days my kids could beat me hands down. Although I am pretty good at Tiger Woods Golf 2006 on my Nintendo Gamecube I'm a rookie that's for sure.

I do have some friends that are a bit more into video games especially the new Nintendo Wii. I can honestly say I haven't tried it until I went over to a buddies house and of course we had to play some Wii. He had just received a new shooter game for the Wii and was trying out the game with a new ezShot Gun he got at Buy.com. The ezShot Gun for Nintendo Wii totally looks like a gun and insert it into the Wii remote and nunchuk and away you go. Now I'm no hunter or like I stated earlier not a real big gamer but these games on the Wii are highly addictive.

My friend is hoping Buy.com puts some more Wii controllers on sale because at $14.00 you can't go wrong. I know he's always checking their weekly deals for any sales on Wii products. You could say he 's a bit Wii addicted.

I can't imagine golf or a game or sport I like on the Wii. I'd probable never leave home or my kids would just constantly beat me so maybe I don't want a Wii after all and I'll just visit my friend more.

Fantasy Picks For Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial

This weeks winner will be the guy who keeps it in the fairway and who's percentage is high in scrambling and putting. Not a long layout more of a shot makers course so here are my picks to do well this week. Experience as usual will pay off.

Jim Furyk-Accurate and would love a win.
Phil Mickelson- This guy is magic 150 yd and in.
Nathan Green- This guy has played here twice(both top 5s) 'nuff said.
Steve Flesch- Just a hunch has been playing better since the Masters another lefty winner.
Justin Leonard- Texas boy great track record here.
KJ Choi- Not so good at the Players will do well on tough, tight course.
Kenny Perry- Has been in contention the last two weeks can he make it three. I do believe so.

Impressed With Parker McLachlin

I was completely impressed with Parker McLachlin this past weekend at the AT&T Classic At TPC Sugarloaf. He had a chance to win but had a few shaky holes down the stretch and ended up in a tie for 5th his best finish of the year. This guy seems to have all the tools and is a tall lanky guy with a more upright swing. He's made 9 of 12 cuts this year with two top 10s and 5 top 25s and has some pretty good stats including being T22nd in Scoring Average on the PGA TOUR. Check out Parker swing.

Prestigious England Tournament

If you've ever been to London you know it's a very large city and can be a bit intimidating. When I was traveling around Europe about ten years ago I was visiting some family in Ireland and had an opportunity to go to England including London. London never really interested me and wasn't a place I thought I would really want to visit until I finally went and God I was glad I did. I thought it would be to busy and intimidating. I got over it quick when I saw first hand the beauty and the history of London. I loved getting around in the Underground visiting some of London's historical museum as well as I got a chance to take in a few matches at Wimbledon. A friend got some great Wimbledon tickets that we just couldn't pass up they were higher up but it didn't matter. I didn't know I'd ever get the chance again to see the oldest and most prestigious tennis championship in the world. That's what London is all about prestige. Now I just have to get back there to take in the Open Championship some year. That would be an awesome journey to see the world's best golfers at one of the prestigious golf courses like Carnoustie, St. Andrews or Royal Troon.

Ryuji Imada Swing Vision & WITB

Ryuji Imada won for the first time on the PGA Tour this past week and it's always cool to see the winners swing especially the driver swing in slow motion. So enjoy this video from the final round.

Golf.com had a great article about what Imada had in the bag. He ended up going back to his trusty 905R after having the Titleist 907D4 prototype driver in the bag for the last while. They also talk about his putter, a custom Scotty Cameron Del Mar 3.

The circular areas on the face near the heel and the toe are tungsten weights added especially for Imada. Increasing the weight in these spots makes a putter more stable on off-center hits, but Imada's weights also reduce the effective hitting area on the putter face.

For The Golf Obsessed - Stracka.com

Just talk to anyone who's an avid golfer and they know what I'm talking about when I say that when an avid golfer is not golfing we love to talk about it. I know my wife bugs me especially when my father-in-law and I are together we can't stop talking about golf. When is the next time your playing? Did you see the last PGA tournament? Have you tried that new club? It's a nice addiction when you have an understanding wife like myself.

A great place to talk more golf and get your fix of golf is at www.stracka.com. They have a great forum where you can discuss online where you might be playing next or maybe hook up with another member for a friendly game right in your own neighborhood. I recently signed up and I love the handicap tracking feature Stracka.com offers as well as the statistics that it can keep track of, something that's great for a golfer who is trying to get better.

Stracka.com also has a golf course directory if your thinking about playing a course in a certain area. See if it's in their directory and see what others might be saying about the golf course. A great resource for those who might travel around on business and might get a chance to play a few different courses throughout the country.

Make sure you also check out the photos that members can upload. It's always cool to see what other golfers might be taking pictures of and why not upload your own as well. Sign up today at Stracka.com it's free and fun.

Imada Beats Perry In Playoff- Can You Say Redemption

Ryuji Imada won for the first time on the PGA Tour and it was in a playoff at the AT&T Classic in Atlanta Georgia. Imada liked this one better than last year as this time around it was not him but Kenny Perry who ended up in the water on the 18th hole.

Imada shot a final-round 67 and birdied the 72nd hole to reach the playoff. Imada became the first Japanese player since Shigeki Maruyama to win on the PGA Tour. Ryuji is having a hell of a season with two runner-up finishes already this year, at the Buick Invitational and PODS Championship. Imada moves up to third in the FedEx point with the win, who would of thought that. Check out these highlights from Imada and Perry's rounds on Sunday.

Bad Bounce Sinks Kenny Perry's Chances

Kenny Perry got a bad bounce Sunday at the AT&T Classic at the TPC Sugarloaf last year Ryuji Imada put his ball in the water on the 18th hole to lose to Zach Johnson this year Perry got a bad bounce off a tree as his ball ended up bouncing off the tree right across the green into the pond that guards the 18th hole. Perry who's been playing well lately couldn't pull out any miracles and Ryuji Imada won with a par on the first sudden death hole. Next year it will be Perry turn to win I wonder who'll be the won he beats. Check out the video of his shot below.

Switching To A HD TV

Lately I've been trying to talk my wife into getting a new HD TV. They've come down alot in price and to be honest with you I'm dying to watch sporting events in HD. Any of the golf tournaments especially the Majors would be awesome as well as any hockey or football. The last advantage I tried to tell her is we'd be reducing the amount of wires (which she hates) our TV would have if we got a HD TV. I told her how HDMI cables would replace all the wires we have going on now. One HDMI connection replaces 3 video connections for high definition video I told her. I need to work it a bit more it seems.

Ben Crane You Suck

Ben Crane you suck. I wake up yesterday and see that Ben Crane is nowhere to be found on the leaderboard. He was entered right, I did pick him for my Golf Fantasy League right I'm sure alot of people would considering the way that he's been playing lately as well as his track record at TPC Sugarloaf. No Ben Crane withdrew just prior to his start in the first round of the AT&T Classic.

Tour Officials weren't given an immediate reason for his withdrawal, but it's a pretty safe bet that his fragile back is starting to act up again. Should of been a safe bet now it only hurts.

Paul Goydos Swing Sequence Video

He almost won last week a journeyman golfer like Paul Goydos almost pulled off a victory in the end he couldn't the putts that really mattered. He's playing this week a the At&T Classic at the TPC Sugarloaf. Hope you didn't pick him in any of your fantasy leagues because I'm sure he'll have a let down and not even make the cut this week. That being said His swing is definitely interesting as he takes back the club differently then most.

Creative Golf

I don't know if your like me at the beginning of the season but I tend to practice alot more especially my short game in my back yard and at the range. I try not to just hit balls one right after the other but try to have a routine just as if I was playing a round with the guys on a Saturday morning.

Recently I've discovered a great way to practice my temp both with the short game and the longer clubs off the tee. I've been using my old Creative Labs MP3 player. I find listening to music has really improve my game including my tempo. Now I'm looking at upgrading to a new MP3 player. My sister has had a newer Creative Labs player now for awhile and she really likes it, plus it's very tiny. Kind of what I'm looking for when golfing as my Creative Labs Touch is a little bulky.

So I think I've found a great deal at Buy.com in their weekly deals where they have a MP3 player smaller than the size of a credit card. Perfect for what I need it for and it comes in black too. The Creative ZEN will fit nicely in my pocket while I'm swinging away and only weights 65g so I won't even know it's there while practising. I've been really happy with my Creative Touch for the last while so purchasing a new Creative ZEN for $90.99 is a steal in my book. The ZEN has a storage capacity of 4GB so I'll be able to put a ton of songs on it and not worry about changing them for awhile.

I also like the fact the Creative ZEN has a SD memory expansion slot. That's what my digital camera uses so I can expand the memory if I want plus check out my pictures and my videos on my Creative Zen MP3 player as well. How can I not pick this up as Buy.com even will ship it free to me so I have more money to play golf. I'm sold.

Fantasy Golf Picks- AT&T Classic TPC Sugarloaf

This week the tour heads back to Georgia for the AT&T Classic at the TPC Sugarloaf golf course designed by Greg Norman who's also in the field. I had a terrible week last week considering it was the unofficial 5th Major this week I can only go up. So here are my picks:
Zach Johnson- 2 wins here
Nicholas Thompson - just a hunch, his accuracy should do well here, good week last week.
Ryuji Imada -good track record at Sugarloaf
Stewart Cink-he may not win but he'll be in the top 10
Ben Crane -good finishes lately
Jonathan Byrd - made it through to the weekend last week, likes Sugarloaf.
Retief Goosen - been playing better lately

A Golf Handicap For Even A Hacker Like Me

As a golf hacker I still like to keep track of my scores and my golf handicap. It's a great way to see if your becoming a better or a worse hacker. Adidas Tour Traxion Golf Shoe Review

These are an older model but for $78.00 at GolfTown they're a real deal and quite the comfy golf shoe. The sales guy said to wear them around for a bit before my first round but of course I didn't and they performed quite well the first round of the year, although I was a little scared because I got a small blister on the side of my left foot. So now I've played 3 rounds with them and I can't say enough good about these shoes. For a person with a narrower foot like myself these are great. I'm a taller guy at 6'5" 205lbs so I needed the support and the Tour Traxions deliver with their support system. I got the black one and I love to look down and easily see my feet position.

They have a 2-year waterproof warranty and so far all is dry. The clog-resistant cleats and Z-Traxion has so far provided excellent grip and traction.

Make The Right Hosting Choice

I always find it interesting when talking to a potential client about web hosting. Alot just figure when they buy their domain they're set they don't realize they actually have to host their site somewhere. A great place to send them is Web Hosting Choice which has a wealth of info for newbies when it comes to hosting a site. I love their quick start section that talks about web design, web hosting and domain names in a very easy to understand way. Their information on web hosting scams is not only helpful for a would be client but also to a webmaster. They talk about the top 10 hosting companies in relation to bandwidth, price, setup fee, rate, disk space and data transfer. I especially like that they have the year established of the web hosting company something very important when doing business on the Internet.

Annika Set To Retire At the End Of Year

In not a real surprise move, Annika Sorenstam has announced at a press conference that she will retire after the end of the season. This ends a LPGA Tour career in which she has won 72 tournaments to date including last week. and delivered a defining moment when she teed it up against the men on the PGA TOUR. At 37 she wants to start a family and devote more times to her business interests. Good for you Annika.

Crazy Winds For Golfing

Was golfing the other day in some seriously high winds close to what it seemed like on the last day of the Players Championship that Sergio Garcia won in a playoff over Paul Goydos. You really had to keep the ball down and if any of your shots ballooned good luck you never really knew where they would end up. When I returned home my wife was saying the window blinds were blowing all over the place as well as anything light in our backyard that the kids didn't put away. She said the kids were talking about the Wizard of Oz and the winds in that movie. Not quite but close.

Paul Goydos Gracious In Defeat

I didn't think he'd have a great round Sunday but Paul Goydos almost pulled off a win at the Player's Championship. He had 18 less putts then Sergio so it obvious he had a hot putter, a TaylorMade Spider by the way. So #1 in Putts per GIR and Putts per Round and he had to settle for 2nd. I've gained some respect for this journeyman golfer. Here's his post round news conference.

Vacation Ideas Just A Phone Call Away

With summer just around the corner people are thinking of vacations they can take with their families that of course won't be too expensive and will of course also be fun. One of my favorite vacations was to Vancouver Island many years ago and included seeing the West Coast of the Island and the beaches of Tofino. The kayaking was great as well as the smoked salmon. If your not the adventurous type fairly cheap flights to Toronto can be booked through Dialaflight as well all the other things you need while planning a vacation. From Dialaflight.com you can search for hotels, car rentals and any other customized vacation ideas you might have, so if your going to hit the big city like Toronto for some shopping or a concert or your looking to be more adventurous try Dialaflight for all your vacation needs.

Sergio Garcia Wins The 2008 Players Championship

I didn't have him in any of my Fantasy Golf Leagues (I kinda wish I had) but Sergio finally didn't choke in a final round of a tournament especially one like the 5th Major and he sealed the deal over Paul Goydos.

He led the field in fairways hit (43-of-56) despite crazy high winds that produced white caps on the many ponds and lakes on the course. He tied for first in greens in regulation (56-of-72) despite rock-hard surfaces that repelled golf balls constantly.

He definitely deserved the win. Garcia becomes just the second European to win the Players Championship. The victory was the seventh of his career and the first in 54 starts since his last win in 2005.

TPC Sawgrass #17

It's going to be an interesting day tomorrow at TPC Sawgrass as some players fell off the map and others got into contention. I'm not a real big fan of Paul Goydos but he has played pretty good especially his putter. I don't think he'll win tomorrow as I'm pretty sure he'll have his bad round tomorrow. Guys like Sergio and Phil will be there but don't count out my man Jesper as he could surprise just as well as a few others. Goydos is leading at -7 but he and Perry will come back to the rest of the field.

Top Of The "To Do" List

As I was doing some work around the outside of the house today. You know the stuff you usually do on weekends; mow the lawn, trim some shrubs and hedges those things that make your property look good. Well as I was doing this I really had a good look at our house and realized it might need a few little upgrade. I'm not talking anything drastic maybe just some new exterior shutters and a few coats of sealant on the outside decks. I've been playing to much golf lately so I'm going to put these things on the top of my "to do" list. My wife should be happy.

Jesper Parnevik Rd. 2 #17 The Players Championship

One of my favorite players, Jesper Parnevik making par on the difficult par #17 at TPC Sawgrass. The Players Championship can be won or lost on this hole. We'll see what the weekend brings.

Fantasy Golf Picks For The Players Championship

Well this week for my fantasy golf picks I had a simple system stick with the same picks from the Wachovia Championship , I had a good week last week other than picking the winner I still made some good Fantasy dollars. So how did I do after the cut well not bad but not great.
Mickelson, Phil- 70-73- (-1)
Singh, Vijay - 75-73-(MC)

Charley Hoffman Tosses Putter In Water At #13 Players Championship

Charley Hoffman was having a bad round and it got even worse when he missed a 20-inch putt on #13 during the 2nd Round of The Players Championship and decided to toss his putter into the adjacent water. We`ve all been there right during a bad round and wanted to do the same thing Charley did, most of us hold back because dammit putters aren`t cheap. I`m thinking Charley probably wishes he didn`t throw his putter in but a spur of the moment decision and some lady is fishing it out a few minutes later and is was a Scotty Cameron. Fans of Scotty Cameron will not be happy as I`m sure Scotty himself.

"I had thoughts of diving in front of it," caddie Miguel Rivera said. "I did actually think about going in, but the water looked a little funky."
Hoffman declined comment after he shot 11-over 83 in the second round and badly missed the cut at 15 over. He was 7 over when he reached the par-3 13th and needed a few birdies to make it to the weekend.

Forty And Needing A GPS System

I recently turned 40 and you wouldn't believe what my wife and kids are thinking of getting me. You see I have this habit lately of getting lost. I don't know whether it's because I just turned forty (I’ll never admit it's that) or my mind is a little frazzled lately with the addition of new baby boy. It really has become an epidemic. I've even got lost en route to a few local golf courses that I haven't played in awhile, luckily my playing partners are understanding. Well they've been looking at purchasing a GPS system I guess they figure with one of these units I'll never get lost again but they're being thrifty and are looking for a good deal.

Well it looks like their search is finally over. They found a great deal at Buy.com. They presently have advertised in their weekly deals a nice Magellan Maestro 4250 Portable GPS System. This refurbished GPS system comes with 4.3" wide-format color touch screen and even a voice command feature. So when I have it in my van I can get it to perform functions just by my voice commands. Very good feature when it comes to the safety of my family. The Magellan GPS System also has built in maps of the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada so it can be taken almost anywhere. A great tool for going on those long summer vacations. You'll never get lost again with over 6 million pre-programmed points of interest and an integrated AAA TourBook guide. My wife's even talking about taking more vacation time. I'm just happy I won't be late for another tee off time. I've saved the best for last this GPS system is listed at $249.99 and Buy.com will ship it to you free. Another great deal from Buy.com.

Rest, Relaxation And Some Golf

My buddies and I are planning a little summer golf outing in Quebec this year outside of the Mont Tremblant area. We'll be playing Le Geant and the Le Diable, most of us for the first time. Most of us have kids so we're getting away for a little rest and relaxation. We'll be staying in a great place called Blueberry Lake Resort which is just a short drive north of Mont Tremblant. It's great to stay at a place like this as we really feel we've left the city for a relaxing country experience at Blueberry Lake. The modern log home is amazing and is a home I'd love to build for myself. They have a great restaurant on site so you don't have to head into Mont Tremblant if you don't want to. If your thinking about heading to Mont Tremblant Canada try the Blueberry Resort you won't be disappointed.

Jesper Parnevik 17th Wachovia 2008 4th Round

You have to love back to back weeks with some great par 3s, last week it was the 17th at the Wachovia Championship this week it's the 17th at the Players Championship. Here's some action from last weeks tournament. Jesper Parnevik on the tough 17th hole at the 2008 Wachovia Championship.

Canadian DeCorso Wins On Nationwide Tour

It was great to see Ontario native Bryan DeCorso became the 11th Canadian to win on the Nationwide Tour over the weekend when he won the South Georgia Classic this past Sunday. Canadians as a whole have won 17 times on the Nationwide Tour. That's second only to Australia's 36 wins among international players.

Bryan DeCorso shot a three-under 69 on Sunday to win the South Georgia Classic by four shots. DeCorso claimed his first Nationwide Tour victory at 14-under 274, breaking by four shots the tournament scoring record set by John Kimbell in the first year of the event last season. He was close the week earlier with a tie for fourth.

"I don't know if there was ever a monkey on my back, because this is my first full year on the Nationwide Tour, but I've been a pro for a long time. I've dreamed of playing on the PGA Tour, and now I'm that much closer," said DeCorso, who earned $112,500 for the win and moved into fourth place on the money list.

Camillo Villegas Is Hungry For First Win But He's Still Waiting

So Anthony Kim gets his first PGA Tour win last week in his second PGA Tour season. Pretty damn good stuff. You have to figure a guy like Camillo Villegas is just beside himself thinking I should have a PGA Tour win by now but he just hasn't strung 4 rounds together to get a win. He turned pro in 2004 and I'm sure it will come someday. Check out this video from last weeks Wachovia Championship of Camillo talking about winning.

A Helpful Resource For Your Blog

When you have a website or blog your always looking at ways to improve your site. I spend alot of time sifting through alot of different websites out there that have there opinions on web development and web design and marketing. Some are good resources some not so good I've integrated many on this blog and some of my other websites. The other day I stumbled upon Stylish Design and they're one of the good ones . They really seem to have a good eye on the world of Web Designing. I especially like there insight when it comes to Google and it's PageRank system and there insight into transforming a dynamic page into a SEO friendly web page good for anyone that interested in this concept. There mix of web marketing, web development and design topics is great because all three are so important in a successful site. You can just focus on one area with out the other two. Right now I'm reading about how to create a successful AdWord campaign good stuff for a newbie or someone who just why need a refresher. Check it out.

MacGregor MT Series Complimentary Demo Club Opportunity

Tell me MacGregor Golf isn't one of the more progressive golf companies out there for initiating a great Demo Club Opportunity. It was recently posted on GolfWRX.com so take advantage of this deal if your looking at a new set of irons or just want to demo one of there new offerings. I've got my 7 iron coming in a few weeks and I'll be doing a review of it here so stay tuned.

Hello Everyone,

This is Reid Gorman from MacGregor Golf. As we ramp up the 2008 golf season I'd like to thank everyone for their positive comments and feedback about our new MT Series product line...see this link if you haven't already (http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=120023). I've been told "unofficially" that this is one of the longest running and most active threads ever on GolfWRX.com. For those of you involved with this ongoing discussion...it has truly been a pleasure interacting with you over the past few months. For those of you that haven't seen it, here are a few thoughts about what today's MacGregor is all about.

MacGregor Golf is a 110 year old "brand new" company now under the ownership and direction of Greg Norman. In 2008 MacGregor has launched a very thorough new lineup of MT branded products. True to the roots of the MacGregor brand, all new MT products follow the "Modern Classic" design premise. What does this mean? Very simple...you can trust MacGregor to produce equipment that's as pleasing to the eye as it is to the end results. Regardless of your skill level, MacGregor now offers tour-inspired shapes that deploy relevant technology to help your game. In other words, you don't have to trade off aesthetics for performance.

Enough of the sales pitch about us! We prefer to let our product do the talking. That being said, for anyone in the market for new irons we'd be thrilled to send you a complimentary demo club (7-iron) for your personal evaluation. Just take a look at the new iron lineup here (http://www.macgregorgolf.com/irons.asp). The MT Series of irons covers the spectrum of many skill levels...from the low handicap "forged" golfer (MT-Pro) to golfers that need the ultimate in forgiveness (MT-OS CupFace irons...which includes Senior and Ladies versions). All of these irons have been crafted with classic shapes and clean lines, regardless of the player target. Once you've identified your model of interest, send me an e-mail here (rgorman@macgregorgolf.com) with which MT Series model you'd like to evaluate. My Customer Service team will respond back to you within a day or two to ensure that we have all your pertinent details.

If you love the product as much as we're confident you will…just walk into your local golf shop with your demo club and show them what you want to order. Once you've completed your trial, just pass on the demo club to some friends, drop it off to your local PGA Professional or donate it to Junior Golf.

Again, thanks for all of the positive dialogue. For those of you that have recently purchased MT Series products, thank you! For everyone else that we'll hear from shortly on this offer, we look forward to working with you.

Take care,

Reid Gorman

Round 2 Highlights From Wachovia Championship

Another tough course this week on the PGA Tour as the pros head to North Carolina for the Wachovia Championship. The cut fell at +1 and all my guys made through to the weekend including Adam Scott, Jesper Parnevik and Jim Furyk. Who will make a run today maybe some of the players starting early will have an advantage. Check out these highlights from yesterdays action including some footage from the difficult par 3 17th and some great shots from George McNeil an Jason Bohn.

Au Natural

Don't you hate when you get a certain product and it says all natural on it but when you do further investigation it really isn't. So many things today are all natural from natural baby products, natural skin care products like natural acne treatments to natural vitamins and supplements it's sometimes important to do a little investigation to make sure things are all natural there are some great resources at Health Canada if you have any concerns I know I've gone to there website for information.

Charley Hoffman Is Good

Charley Hoffman is one of my favorite golfers he's playing again this week at the Wachovia Championship. He hits his driver so sweet and he hits his irons so effortlessly. He had a tough 1st round but hopefully he can bounce back today and make the cut at Wachovia. A couple of nice shots from Charley Hoffman one approach shot and a bunker shot from the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Enjoy.

Mother's Day Is Coming

With Mother's Day coming up on the 11th of this month you should really take a moment and think of something special to do for your Mom this year. With the hustle and bustle of every day life you can get caught up in your own life and tend to just focus on yourself sometimes. Well Mother's Day is a time to tell your Mom thanks for being the "Best Mom". You don't have to go crazy and spend lots of money. Why not take your Mom out for a nice round of golf at her favorite golf course followed by a nice brunch that's what I'm doing. Sometimes a mothers day gift can be simple like a beautiful arrangement of flowers something she might not expect from you. 1800flowers.com has some great examples of arrangements you can't go wrong with and your Mom will be quite impressed. They not only have an array of fresh flowers but they have some beautiful plants and other spectacular gifts for your Mom. So check it out, you do have some time to plan now so don' forget.

A Little Love For TheTaylorMade TP Red Ball

You have to love it when a player wins over the weekend like Darren Clarke did and you get to hear what golf equipment he was using for the win. For Darren it was his first victory with the new TaylorMade® TP Red ball with LDP.

From: TaylorMade
The TaylorMade TP Red with LDP ball incorporates four-piece multi-layer construction and is designed for high-spin players who want less spin, while the TP Black with LDP features thhree-piece multi-layer construction and is designed for low-spin players who want more spin.

Clarke ranked 5th in driving distance at 291.3 yards using a TaylorMade Burner® TP driver, and ranking 1st in greens in regulation at 69.4% using TaylorMade rac Forgedd TP irons.*

In Clarke's bag:

TaylorMade Burner TP driver 8.5°

TaylorMade Burner TP 3-wood

TaylorMade Burner TP 5-wood

TaylorMade rac Forged TP irons (3-PW)

TaylorMade TP Red LDP **

"This one is very special," said Clarke, whose last tour win came in 2003. "This is the toughest one of all of them and it's nice to get back up to where I feel my golf should be. It's nice to win again and it's a really, really good feeling."

Trevor Immelman - 5 Questions With Feherty

David Feherty is one funny guy and this past weekend there was a segment on the coverage of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship that was pretty funny it was of Feherty interviewing Trevor Immelman the 2008 Masters Champion pretty funny stuff. Enjoy.
