Golf Present From Santa

There's nothing like being a golfer and Christmas morning seeing a long box with a bow on it under the tree. You know Santa was listening when you happen to mention that your putts might be decreased if you got the latest Scotty Cameron putter or your driving distance would increase with a new driver. It kinda sends tingles up your spine when you see the box under the tree somewhat like when you went on your first real date your acne treatment is working and your a little nervous but excited. Kind of those same feeling for a new club under the tree. You know what I'm talking about good luck at Christmas.

Richard Sterne Wins Back To Back

I'm sure Richard Sterne thought he's never even be in a playoff after finishing early with a 66. But he beat Gareth Maybin with a birdie putt on the first playoff hole for back to back wins. Nice going for the South African winning his Country's Open Championship. See some highlights below.

Ottawa Golf Blog Looks Forward To New Year

Well with year almost over it's the time of the year I start to look at the coming year and what's in store for this blog in the new year. It was a year where the blog took on a real video theme with me every week recording various tournaments and editing them so viewers could enjoy the best shots from the week. Some weeks were better than others like the weeks Tiger was playing or Anthony Kim or VJ was in the hunt.

I've always enjoyed doing course reviews and there were a few more this past year more will come in the New Year. I'm going to try to stick with mainly golf reviews no more food or diet pill reviews. I will be trying to focus more on golf club reviews with videos as well as golf clothing reviews. Some are already in the works. So keep a eye out in the new year.

Starting A Blog - Get a Good Host

Right now I'm trying to juggle 3 different blogs this one about golf with it's various golf videos from around the globe to my two new hockey blogs one of which centers around the Ottawa Senators. It can be rather hectic with my regular job as well as my family obligations ( 3 kids and a wife that lets me golf lots). That's where being able to spot good resources online comes in handy and networking with other bloggers as well.

I always like it when people ask me about my blogs and the reasons why I do and so forth. The Hackers Paradise - You'll Love It

I'm a member on many a golf forum and one in particular I happen to stumble upon and since I joined a few days ago I've got nothing but positive to say about The Hackers Paradise. They call themselves "The place where golfers unite to talk about everything Golf" but it's more then that I was welcomed from the get go with open arms where some haven't been as welcoming as I do run a Golf Blog but no not The Hackers Paradise. Good folks that have great contacts to do some cool golf reviews they're even giving away a new Gel Opal putter this week for forum members with at least 20 posts or more (I easily got 20 posts in the last few days). There seems to folks from all over so check it out if you love all things golf.

Golf Obsessed

Have you ever on a family vacation tried sneak your clubs in with the rest of the luggage even after your wife has said there will be no time for "golf". Do you ever sit a work and think to yourself man I can get at least 9 holes in before dark and before i get home. Do you keep track of all the turnoffs on the highways that have golf course on them. Are you a member on so many online golf forums you sometimes double post. Do you have so many golf boxes for clubs in your basement your kids have no room for there toys. Well if any of these things apply to you welcome to the "golf obsessed" side of the world.

Feel The Ball Soar Off The Club

It's getting pretty bad lately the golf blues. It's been a little over a month since I've swung a club and I may have to go to a Sim golf just to feel the swing. Now I've been putting downstairs on my makeshift putting area. This has quenched the desire a little although I'm looking at steam cleaners because my putting carpet has been getting a workout from some messy kids. Why do we do these things just to feel the ball hit the head of the iron. To see that ball track along the carpet and go in the makeshift hole. God I envy those that can golf year round. Please no more snow.

The House Promotion Code Will Save Me Lots Of Bucks

Other than golf being one of my passions as my kids are getting old I'm starting to look at my old snowboard boots in the corner thinking maybe it would be cool to get out on the slopes again with the family. I can only play so much SSX snowboarding video game on my Gamecube. There's nothing like hitting the slopes. Back when I lived in BC I did alot of snowboarding and even worked at a local ski hill in Vancouver.

Now how will I update my gear and still not spend a bundle. I use alot of online coupons when I buy golf gear and save lots of cash that I use for green fees. So why not use some promo codes on a new board or maybe a new boarding jacket. I've already found a few online coupons including The House promotion code which is a great online retailer that has some great deals on all things that have to do with snowboarding. Now I just have to convince my wife to let me on the slopes with my girls.

What to Put Under The Tree

If your wife isn't a golfer getting her the new Titleist driver isn't the thing to surprise her with at Christmas. Guys sometimes we're not that great with the gift thing, most of the time we over think things it's best to keep it simple with jewelry, diamonds are great, perfume like Oscar de la Renta even better. Don't get to crazy and listen to what she says to get hints but if all else fails remember flowers and chocaltes are never bad. Good luck.

Stenson's 63 Leads Nedbank Challenge Video

Henrik Stenson's course record 63 has him in the lead at -9 after Day 1 of the Nedbank Challenge. He's way out in front but it will take another 3 solid rounds to win. Check out some highlights below.

Portable Putter Perfect Gift For The Golfer On Your List

What's not to love with this time of the year. Christmas is just around the corner and since I can't be golfing in the winter here I check out various golf club deals on the Internet as well as looking for cool golf toys for some of the golfers on my list. Golfers are usually pretty easy to buy for because we like golf gadgets and things that will make are game better but finding that unique golf gift can some times be hard.

One great little gadget from www.porta-putter.com is you guessed it a portable putter. I know if your like me and travel around alot it's sometimes hard to take all your clubs with you all the time whether your gone for a week or a weekend. Tell me it wouldn't be cool to take that new putter you just got for your next business trip, well that's where Porta-Putter comes along . When your taking 30 to 40 puts a round you want your trusty putter right, well Porta-Putter can transform your putter so where you can take it with you in your travel bag or briefcase. Talk about awesome no more 3 putts with that damn rental putter anymore.

Just think of the next time your on a business trip and your golfing with some business associates and they all have rental putters and you have your Porta-Putter.

Surf Injury Gets the Better Of Scott

Adam Scott's injury plagued season took another turn for the worse as he injured his right kneecap surfing at nearby Coolum Beach on Sunday.

Because of the injury he's had to withdraw from this week's Australian PGA championship.

Scott, a longtime surfer, is still hopeful of playing in next week's Australian Open in Sydney.

The Australian PGA, with John Daly, defending champion Peter Lonard and Robert Allenby in the field, begins Thursday.

Slow Down With Some Golf and Peace Of Mind

In today's crazy world it seems like sometimes we're all racing around stressing out and not accomplishing much. I know I get caught up in this all the time. I use golf as a tool to slow down and relax but sometimes golf can get the better of me and I really have to stop and smell the proverbial roses big time. So find your thing to unwind and then you won't have to worry about looking online for term life insurance quotes because you'll live longer if you slow down enough to smell the roses.
