The playoff was a bit sloppy but Martin Kaymer withstood a huge charge from Lee Westwood that got him into a playoff with Kaymer. Kaymer won the playoff after they tied at 13-under 271. Westwood shot a 65 in the final round, but double bogeyed the first playoff hole when his approach shot found the water. Germany's Kaymer, after a 68, barely cleared the water himself with his approach and made a winning par for his third win on the European Tour.
