What makes a good buddies trip? It can be many things for different people but for me it starts with fun golf courses that everyone in your group will enjoy. Like a few years ago our 1st Annual Texas Invitational Buddies Trip from beautiful Dallas Texas. We got to play Old American which was truly a Texas gem and you left wanting to play it again and again.

Kiawah Island Resort in South Carolina should be on the top of all golfers list for a buddies trip.

Having just been there this past November Kiawah Island Resort gets top marks for me when it comes to a perfect place for a buddies trip. Played 3 of the 5 courses there and all were amazing from the challenging coastal beauty of the Ocean Course to the the newly redesigned shot makers intrigue of the Gary Players designed Cougar Point. Why wouldn't you choose Kiawah Island South Carolina for a buddies trip?

Although not heavy on the night life (you could always head to Charleston) the food and lodgings there will make you feel refreshed and invigorated for your rounds of golf and if there's any achy muscles after your rounds make sure you try out the Sanctuary Spa for some relaxing massages. My wife when we were there enjoyed the Sanctuary Spa so much said it was "the best of her spa experiences" tagging along with me on my many golf outings (ah! the life of a golf writer's wife).

Although the Kiawah Island Resort will cost you more then most buddies trip you'll have many great stories, experiences and memories to offset your credit card bill.
