I kind of like what the LPGA tour does with it's season ending tournament, the ADT Championship. You have 30 players assembled based upon qualifying criteria of points and winners of certain key tournaments. The 30 then play stroke play for two rounds. The top 16 players go on to the third round on Saturday(if there are more than sixteen players within the cut line on Friday, there is a sudden death playoff amongst those on the tie line to determine who makes it and who does not ie. Annika on Friday). Only sixteen players exactly will make it to Saturday and the playoff continues until that is achieved. On Saturday, the sixteen remaining players start with a blank slate for a one day shootout. The top eight players then advance to the Sunday final round. The same sudden death system applies. The final round is another one round shootout the winner pocketing a million dollars.
You can't have a bad round or your out and like this past Sunday shows the cream rises to the top and the #1 player in Women's Golf won. Congrats Lorena Ochoa.
