Telus World Skins In June Has Interesting Field

The field is looking like quite the mix for the upcoming Telus World Skins Game coming up on June 16-17 at Predator Ridge in British Columbia. Colombia's Camilo Villegas and Scotland's Colin Montgomerie were added this week to the Skins Game field Thursday, joining Fred Couples and Greg Norman at Predator Ridge. Villegas said:
"I'm honored to be invited to participate ... alongside such golf greats as Fred Couples, Greg Norman and Colin Montgomerie," Villegas said.

Andres Romero Wins In New Orleans After 3 Hour Wait

It was a bit weird seeing the action today on the PGA Tour. Andres Romero finishes his round 3 hours before the final group finishes. He ended up winning as no one could catch his -13 final score. Woody Austin had a melt down on #18, Peter Lonard couldn't make one more birdie coming down the stretch and a few others just couldn't catch Romero. Romero wins for the first time on the PGA Tour and in his 12th PGA Tour start pretty good for this young Argentinian. He made only one bogey in his final 36 holes pretty good the tough layout at TPC Louisiana. If you missed any of his round catch the highlights below from his final round.

Woody Austin's 18th Hole Angst

So Woody comes down to his final hole needing a birdie to tie Andres Romero the clubhouse leader and eventual winner and what does Woody do he hits a terrible shot out of the rough on 18 with a hybrid club then puts his third shot in the water on #18 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He goes on to a 7 for the hole and ends up tied for 4th with 3 other players. Oh the agony. Enjoy.

Padraig Comes Through At TPC Louisiana

Not a good week of me in my Fantasy Golf Leagues in one of my leagues I've only got 3 of 7 players who have actually made it through to the weekend and none of them are in real contention. Who would of thought that Furyk and Stricker wouldn't make it to the weekend the TPC Louisiana is obviously playing tough for some players. One of my picks that did make it through to the weekend was Irishman Padraig Harrington who'll be playing the next 3 weeks straight. Enjoy the video below of Padraig playing a lovely pitch/flop shot to green where he converts his birdie putt. Sweet.

Strange Sightings On The Golf Course

What's the strangest thing you've seen on the golf course. You know it's your usual Saturday round and wham an attractive women teeing off with some thigh high boots, a marshal with a clown suit on or maybe a fairway bunker with pink sand. I don't know but I know I've seen a few crazy things while golfing before and they always seem to happen during the heat of the Summer. Something we're all looking forward too here in our little part of the World. So leave a comment about what crazy things you've seen on the golf course.

5th Annual Rotary Home Golf Marathon

I've never done a Golf Marathon but when I saw the ad for the 5th annual Rotary Home Golf Marathon coming up in June at Emerald Links Golf Course I was definitely interested. With a headline like "Love To Golf, Always wanted to be treated like a Pro on Tour? I got me to thinking why not. It's in support of the new Ottawa Rotary Home -Building on a Dream Campaign. Here's how it works:

There are no registration fees. Each golfer collects a minimum of $250.00 in pledges to participate ($1,000.00 per foursome). Then come and play all 27 holes of the Emerald Links Golf and Country Club from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and we'll make sure you're well fed and catered to all day.
On top of all that, more you collect in pledges the bigger the prize you win!!

The number of golfers will be limited to 200 to ensure a relaxed enjoyable day for all.

Check it out if your interested, I'll let you know if I'm going.

Handyman Prowess Tested Again

Well someone up there must not like me and is putting me to a test. The handyman's test no less. As you know from my previous posts about my lack of handyman prowess well it seems that my indoor/outdoor cat has taken a real dislike to the outside of my door. He has basically scratched and damaged the outside to where I will definitely have to replace the hardware on the door and possibly might have to replace the entire door . This is Baldwin hardware so it's pretty nice. So I'm not sure I'll replace it with as nice hardware. Damn cat.

Bubba Watson Not Happy With Steve Elkington

Well there was a bit of an incident today during the second round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Bubba Watson wasn't too pleased with Steve Elkington walking through his sight line during a shot. So he how would you put it "ripped him a new one". It seems it was brewing since the previous day and during the heat of the battle Bubba kinda lost it. Apparently as reported on PGATour.com Bubba and Elkington have made up and apologized to each other. Bubba also apologized to everyone else. I'm sure he would of done things differently looking back now, we've all been there though just not on a stage like the PGA Tour.

"I heard some movement, and who knows what it was," Watson said. "I was just over the ball, and just trying to make the cut and trying to play better and not getting the right breaks. I was already mad for the day, and I just took it out on them, and I shouldn't have."
Tournament director Arvin Ginn said the incident was resolved quickly at the scoring area.
"In the heat of the battle these players, they're very high-keyed at this point in time, and nobody can say it any better than Bubba said it a little while ago," Ginn said. "He gave a total apology to the media, total apology to the tournament, to the players, to anyone that might have seen or heard any part of it."
Watson said he felt he and Elkington settled the matter.
"We hugged it out," Watson said. "Everything is good. He's not mad. He's looking at me like a son basically because I'm a lot younger than him. He just took me aside and said, 'Be stronger in what you're doing and make sure you don't do that.'"

Volunteering At Glen Abbey This Year

Well I received my notification from the RCGA about my volunteer status for this year's Canadian Open at Glen Abbey in Oakville. I will be part of the Marshall Committee which was my first choice which is cool. I'm looking forward to the week as this is my first time experiencing a PGA Tour event. I will hopefully get in a few rounds in with my father-in-law who is also volunteering. Can't wait til July. If your interested in volunteering please see the volunteer section at www.thecanadianopen.ca

Tackling Those Hard And Not So Hard Jobs

Over my almost 40 years of life I have always wanted to be more of a handy person. I'm talking that guy or girl who just seems to be able to fix anything without hesitation gets right in there and fixes things that get broke you know know those things like kids doors, broken light switches, and leaky faucets. Well it looks like a major fix it project is brewing, I live out in the country and we have hard water which has caused a bit of calcium build up on my kitchen faucet so it will have to be replaced. What kind should I get? There are so many kinds like Hansgrohe faucets, Moen faucets, Kohler faucets and more then the hard part is installing it. Oh the anxiety of it all at least I have the Internet for help plus a "handy" neighbour. Now if I could just get a few golf grips installed before the start of the season(I've had the stuff to do it for over a year) I'd be really getting ahead.

Fantasy Golf Picks For Zurich Classic of New Orleans

This week's field is pretty strong for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and that makes it pretty easy when it comes to my picks his week because most are top players playing well lately. This will be the 59th edition of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans which has gone by quite a few names in it's long history.

The course:
The course was designed and built by Pete Dye with player consultants Steve Elkington and Kelly Gibson. The course opened in 2004 and held the Zurich Open the next year. The course is on 250 acres of former swamp land that Dye transformed into a course that can stretch up to 7,600 yards. The average green size at TPC Louisiana is 5,700 square feet, which is pretty much the average on the PGA Tour. It features 71 bunkers with 20 acres of area covered in sand. Water comes into play on eight of the 18 holes
This event will come down to the short game as usual with most weeks as this course is shorter than most big hitters won't have an advantage. So if your a good scrambler and putter you could win this week. My picks for the week are:

Retief Goosen
Steve Stricker
Jim Furyk
Steve Marino
Padraig Harrington
Stewart Cink
Dark Horse-Jesper Parnevik

Ask For Help

Have you ever had a friend who just needed some help but when you try to help them out they act like your inconveniencing them. I'm sure most people have had this kind of situation before whether it's trying to get a friend into a drug rehabilitation centre or helping out someone who's having some financial problems. I think we as a society sometimes need to ask for help. Alot of people are usually scared to ask because they have a hard time with rejection. But get over it, asking for help is the first step. You may get rejected but there will always be someone who will help.

Outer Banks Golfing

Ok I think the snow around my house actually went down today does this mean I may see grass sometime soon. I don't care even a little patch of green. I'm seriously thinking about a little golf road trip some buddies are renting a place in a few weeks near the coast of North Carolina. They used Outer Banks rentals and got a great deal on accommodations. I'm pretty jealous as they're scheduled to play Sea Scape Golf Links which is a course that is a true Scottish links-style course, situated among the dunes of the Outer Banks of North Carolina hello I would kill to play any course but a links-style course would be a dream. They're also going to play another links-style course at Nags Head Golf Links and the Rees Jones designed Currituck Club golf course. If this snow continues today I'm booking.

Use GolfSig.com For All Your Golf Forums

I know all the golf forums that I frequent most people will put a "What's In The Bag" as there signature. I've even seen some built into the forum software. As golfers most want to know what the other guy or gal is using. What big stick does he have and what Scotty Cameron putter does he have. Well there's now a company that can help you design a "What's In The Bag" with a bit of gusto. Get GolfSig.com to help you put a little flare into your golf signature. Make it stand out from the rest and you only have to update it once at Golf Sig.com and all your golf forums will update to your new GolfSig with one piece of code. Check it out today, I know I'm going to.

Recycle Your HDPE

Well I'm a big one for recycling. I try to do when I can I even try to compost during the spring/summer and fall. It's something I try to get my kids to do as well as trying to understand why as well. I think it's good for everyone. It's all about education they say right that's why when I heard of companies that buy and sell HDPE Regrind. I had to find out more I'd never heard of the term HDPE which I later found out stands for High Density Polyethylene. You know those water bottles, milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles. You guessed it all HDPE. HDPE Regrind is little pieces of these types of products that can and should be recycled. Are goal now should be to reduce HDPE products but at least for now we can recycle what we do have out there.

Some Golf Reading Material

You can tell alot from a guy when you see what kind of reading material he has in his washroom. I know what your saying to yourself "gross" but you really can and I know if I looked in your main washroom there might just be a few furniture catalog, the odd guns and ammo or maybe even a Canadian Tire catalog. Well if you were to look in my washroom you'd know that someone who lives there is a bit of a golf lover as most of my reading material consists of Golf Magazine, Golf Digest and ScoreGolf subscriptions. What can I say I'm a little golf obsessed.

The Blue Monster 3 Putts Tiger Woods

The Blue Monster got to Tiger today as he three putted the 18th for a 67 on a pretty good opening round at Doral. He wasn't too happy though:

"You three putt 18, you're not going to be real happy," a stern-faced Woods said.
"A three putt -- they don't feel good, especially when you have bad speed," said Woods, who missed a 6-footer for par at the 18th. "That first putt was bad speed."
He is only 2 shots off the lead, so don't worry Tiger you'll be ok. Now we can only hope others show up for the ride. Below is a video of a couple of drives from Tiger and an approach shot from the first round of the World Golf Championships-CA Championship at Doral.

Fantasy League Help

Who doesn't love a good Sports Fantasy League. I know I'm running a Golf Fantasy League right here on this blog for all those crazy Golf Fantasy players. I've been involved in a many Fantasy Leagues from hockey to baseball and of course golf. It usually doesn't have to be a huge league but many I've been involved in there were over 50 participants. So how does one do well in a Fantasy League or even win the whole thing. Well it takes lots of dedication and alot of sports knowledge and most of the time some good help like software that can help you make those tough decisions come draft day. I'm talking Fantasy League software that can help you decide you to pick and who to toss away when it comes to draft day. I find software works the best with sports like baseball and hockey. Software for fantasy baseball is a must and Sports Prophet has one of the best to make winning a Fantasy Baseball League a reality. It's web based interface let's you login from anywhere with a Internet connection so you can always be in tune to any new transaction, news or injuries. You can really win some serious cash with software like this by having all the up to date stats, injury reports and any major updates you'll have a leg up on the competition. Right now Sports Prophet has a $10 off special for using promo code BMC200 if you need another reason to try there software for your upcoming Fantasy Baseball League. Use it and give it a try, it might be what puts you over the edge and wins you this years Fantasy League.

Geoff Ogilvy Figures Out The Blue Monster

Nice to see Geoff Ogilvy turning his game around after starting the year missing his first 3 cuts, he seems well on his regaining his U.S. Open form. He shares the lead with Miguel A. Jimenez at 7-under 65. The video below is of the 18th at Doral the Blue Monster which Geoff birdied today. He proceeded to hit his drive 341 yds to the fairway and then hit his approach from 130 yds close and then converted the birdie putt. Nice way to finish but he knows Tiger is lingering.
"You know starting the week if you want to win the tournament, you're going to have to beat him because you know he's going to be in contention come the last nine holes here on Sunday," Ogilvy said. "It's just one of his happy places, obviously. If I can just be one in front after every round, that will be pretty good."

Fantasy Picks For The World Golf Championships-CA Championship

Well today was an interesting first day at the World Golf Championships-CA Championship at Doral and after the first round Tiger isn't actually leading and the scores were really good considering at times the rain and wind was pretty crazy at times. Nice to see Geoff Ogilvy at the top tied with cigar smoking Miguel A. Jimenez at -7. With the best players in the World this should be a great week. Here's how my picks did after round one:
Tiger Woods- -5(67)
Luke Donald- -4(68)
Geoff Ogilvy- -7(65)
Ernie Els- +2(74)
Sergio Garcia- -3(69)
VJ- +1(73)
Aaron Baddeley- -3(69)

Yoga To Help My Golf Game

I'm always into trying new things especially when it comes to fitness and keeping in shape. When it helps my golf game I'm also interested too, so when golf pros like Aaron Baddeley do yoga why not look into it right. I know I also have a few friends that do it mainly for improved flexibility and strength , enhanced breathing awareness, a quieter mind and increased sense of balance. These are all things that could help my golf game so I'm in. My friends have even told me about Yoga-Clothing.com where they have an amazing selection of cool yoga clothes that are comfortable when doing yoga or just doing everyday life things. My wife is even into the comfortable women's tops and bottoms that Yoga-Clothing.com has to offer.

#18 At Doral -The Blue Monster

When the players tee it up this week #18 at the World Golf Championships-CA Championship at Doral Resort will obviuosly have there attention this is one mother of a hole it's considered the harshest, meanest stretch of golf acreage on the PGA Tour in the par-4, 467-yard 18th hole. Good luck guys.
The finishing hole on the aptly named Blue Monster is a chilling mixture of length, water, rough, sand and wind. Last year the hole ranked as the toughest on Tour, and that included the majors. Playing to a 4.625 stroke average, the hole surrendered just 13 birdies and 130 pars in 291 attempts, with bogeys, double bogeys and scores of 7 or higher combining for the other 148 numbers on scorecards.

Watch Hunting For Dad

My watch band exploding today on me and not being able to get it fixed right away got me to thinking about my Dad's birthday that is coming up and what the heck am I going to get him. Well through a little bit of help from divine forces (my wife and sister) and my watch troubles I've come up with a great idea. My Dad needs a new watch and I know just the place online that has some great Seiko Watches on sale. Now my Dad isn't into anything complicated so a model like the Seiko 5 Automatic Black Dial would be something he would like or maybe even the Seiko 5 Sports Automatic Black Dial Strap. These two happen to be on sale right now at BlueDial.com. Looks like it might make my life a little easier because of there huge selection and low prices.

Affordable Las Vegas Golf

Ok enough of this winter weather it's suppose to be spring this week and us golf fanatics will be thinking of hitting the links soon. Except we might be delayed in this area. It really makes me want to book a little affordable golf vacation with Las Vegas Golf Authority. You can book at some of the best golf resorts and Las Vegas golf courses in the area. I'm talking the TPC Las Vegas where you can feel like a pro too. Play this amazing course and more at affordable prices.

Some other courses you can book are The Legacy Golf Club where each tee box on the 1oth hole is the shape of playing card: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades. Talk about Las Vegas unique plus it's ranked by Golf Digest in the top 10 of must play golf course in Nevada. You can also play at a great rate either the Mountain or Palm Courses at Angel Park there so many courses make sure you check them out.

So Called Fan Yells For VJs Ball To Go In Water

Couldn't believe a so called "fan" at a PGA Tour event would yell in Vijay Singh's back swing for his ball to go in the water on the 18th this past Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. I really hope this person was taken off the grounds. No class, no respect, no need for someone like this to be watching a golf event. If you missed it here's what happened:

Better Signs For Your Golf Course

Whenever I go to a golf course especially a new golf course I always make sure I take a look at there golf course sign that usually at the entrance to there course. It doesn't always have to be crazy fancy just that it looks professional and some care has been taken to make it look nice. Most courses that have poor signage the rest of the courses amenities may and usually are poor. Some courses should use BuildASign.com where you can build your own sign from you own design at a low cost but with high quality. Upload your own pictures and get your professional looking signs in minutes. They can help with more products as well so check them out today.

Tiger Woods Figures Out The Greens

For the first two days of the Arnold Palmer Invitational Tiger just seemed to not be able to make the putts on the slower greens at Bay Hill. He seemed to figure them out Saturday en route to a 4 under 66 to tie 4 other for the lead at Bay Hill. Should make for an interesting Sunday.

Golf Obsessed

Some obsessed golfers have a thing for trying new and different clubs quite often, they are often called "club hos" because they are always turning new tricks. They go through lots of clubs in the blink of an eye. Some go through numerous sets of golf clubs during a season where most guys hang onto there set for a few years. No I won't even get into "putter hos" which is a whole new genre. But the pros obsess too over there clubs not only you and I the mere hackers. Check out this great article about some TaylorMade pros that might be a bit obsessed too:

TaylorMade has a new driver debuting in mid-April and an unorthodox new putter coming out a few weeks before that. So at the Arnold Palmer Invitational here this week, the company is pulling out all the stops to get as many PGA Tour pros as possible to adopt the new clubs........

Creative And Convenient Mobile Marketing

Have you ever gotten texted out on the golf course or maybe received the latest weather update on the way to the course. Well about 66 percent of Canadian Internet users now own a mobile phone, up from 57 percent in 2001. So with the popularity of the cell phone so has mobile marketing as the way modern marketer's try to reach young, tech-savvy consumers but were only stating to touch the iceberg here in Canada. A company like SJA mobile that provides dynamic text messaging service is a start but maybe some day they'll be able to provide more than just the latest golf score or weather updates maybe they'll be able to give something we can't get anywhere else now that would be innovative.

Rules Of The Game - 13-4 Ball In Hazard

It's always good to know the rules of golf. There are so many. Here is one used at this year's Honda Classic where Kevin Na was taking a practice swing in the hazard and hit the water. Penalty or not you be the judge. You might want to check out rule 13-4 to jog your memory:

13-4. Ball in Hazard; Prohibited Actions
Except as provided in the Rules, before making a stroke at a ball that is in a hazard (whether a bunker or a water hazard) or that, having been lifted from a hazard, may be dropped or placed in the hazard, the player must not:

a. Test the condition of the hazard or any similar hazard;
b. Touch the ground in the hazard or water in the water hazard with his hand or a club; or
c. Touch or move a loose impediment lying in or touching the hazard.

Be sure to check out the exceptions to the rules.

Affordable Golf Shirts

Hey you don't have to have all the most expensive clubs and the expensive golf shirts to look good on the golf course. Does having all the designer jewelry really make you look good or just real tacky. Have a look at most of the professionals out there and then you'll see Bubba Watson. This guy looks good out there, simply stated. Bubba Watson wears nice golf clothes, it's a line of golf clothes designed partially by him and very affordable so guys like me with 3 kids can still afford them. Get some exclusively at Steve & Barry's all for under $15 bucks.

Ryder Cup Memories 2002 - Paul Azinger's Bunker Shot

With the Ryder Cup this year and Paul Azinger being the Captain I though I'd post this video from the 2002 Ryder Cup where Azinger won his match but the Americans still lost the Cup. His fiery attitude will be very interesting to see as well as who will be on the team as well as his Captain picks. Being in the States this year even more pressure will be put on the American team so it will be interesting to see how the team meshes as it looks like there might be a few first timers.

Crocs O' Plenty

When you find decent footwear you tend to be loyal to that brand especially when they're as comfortable as my Off Road Crocs. I got them last year when my family was going away for Spring Break to the Virgin Islands. In fact we all got beach crocs because we had heard how great they were. I love mine they are so lightweight that I hardly feel like I have them on and they never get that nasty smell from overuse. My feet feel fresh and alive. A great place for a huge selection of Crocs is Elotta.com choose whatever style your looking for whether it's for your wife or your kids you'll find color your looking for on there well laid out site. There site brings up the most popular colors first when your looking at the variety of styles, how cool is that. They also have other types of footwear as well if your looking for other types of beach footwear. Now the word on the street is Crocs will be making Croc footwear for us crazy golfers. Can't wait for that Crocs with spikes sign me up.

Gift Items For Your Golf Tournament

Have you ever been in charge of supplying promotional products for a golf tournament. You know those golf gift items that you hope people find amusing and actually use them. Well this year I'm just doing some leg work and I'm looking into what type of promotional products golfers might like to get and ones they'd just throw away. Are logo ProVs still popular or do golfers prefer something else like a nice golf shirt. I just want to be prepared if I go along with running a tournament. I want it to come across as being professional. One company that seems to have a good grasp of promotional golf items and outdoor promotional items is Empire Promos they have a great selection of golf items including towels, gloves, tees, unique ball packs and umbrellas. It's alot of work preparing for a tournament, Empire Promos would be one company that can help.

Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses

I was reading an article about a golf course in Nova Scotia, the Bell Bay Golf Club being designated as a Certified Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary through the Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. So it got me to thinking just how it got this distinction, well here's what I found out from the article:

To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas. These categories include environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation and water quality management. You have to achieve individual certification and when you have finished all six, you become a co-operative sanctuary.

The Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, endorsed by the Royal Canadian Golf Association, provides information and guidance to help golf courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat, and protect natural resources.
Golf courses from Canada, the United States, Africa, Australia, Central America, Europe, Mexico and southeast Asia have also achieved certification in the program.
Bell Bay becomes the third certified course in Nova Scotia, joining Glen Arbour Golf Club in Hammonds Plains and Highland Links in Ingonish.

40 Year Old Beginner Surfer

When I lived on the West Coast I did alot of cool things but one thing I wish I would of done was surf the shores of Vancouver Island. I remember seeing guys and girls catching waves near Tofino and it always looked so cool. I did a bit of kayaking including some whitewater and ocean but I really wished I would of surfed the area there. Recently I was checking out The SurfBoard Warehouse and it got me to thinking that these guys really know what there doing when it comes to surf stuff. They have an extensive line of custom boards, surfboard fins, surf bags and leashes. They have all the top lines of surf equipment and these guys would know where to go if I ever want to try to surf. Maybe this year when I turn forty.

Your Custom Golf Homepage

With all the gadgets, widgets and add-ons you can get on the Internet there are some that just stand out. You know the ones I'm talking about the ones that make the top 10 lists of the year, the ones you just can't live without, the ones that people say hey what's that or that's pretty cool. Well it looks like like HomePagle has a pretty good one in customizing your homepage on your PC. Who wants that generic and boring Windows XP or Vista wallpaper look when you can customize your homepage with HomePagle. They allow you to upload your own personal photo to your customized homepage or you can choose from one of there available pictures. The pictures for some of the sports like golf and Sports Team logos are pretty cool. With all the talk and headlines on the weekend centering on a professional golfer being charged with killing an endangered bird with a golf shot what is the world coming to next thing you know a golf pro will be in drug rehab or worse one will be caught using a banned substance. So much was talked about this over the weekend but who really cares was it wrong yes most definitely but lets get back to the sport let's not dwell on the negative. Tripp Isenhour was charged this past week with animal cruelty and killing a migratory bird and could face 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines he hasn't been convicted yet let him have his day in court and let's get back to watching some birdies.

O'Hair Wins The Pods Championship As Cink Implodes

Stewart Cink must be just kicking himself today after blowing the 54 hole lead to Sean O'Hair. Stewart Cink collapsed on the back nine of the final round was monumental when it seemed he was in control winning. Cink lost the lead in the middle of a four-hole stretch that he played four-over on the back nine he finished with a 74. O'Hair did keep it together and shot a 69 for a four-under 280 total to take his second career PGA Tour victory. O'Hair really hasn't done much since his victory in 2005. Just look at his record this season before his victory Sunday: 3 of 5 cuts made with finishes of T50, T49, T50. I guess he can send Cink a gift, man sometimes it can be a cruel game.

Dreaming Of Warmer Climates

With this latest blast from old man winter I can only dream of warmer climates and the dream of once again playing golf. I curse all those people headed to Spring Break destinations that are not here shoveling out of two feet of snow. I long to feel a warm breeze in my face, not to have to wear so many clothes that I can't move, to bundle my kids so much they can't move. Should I just book a a vacation rental like maybe one of those Branson Rentals where I could play a 18-hole championship layout like LedgeStone where I could play in awe of the Ozark Mountains and the the wife and kids could do there thing.

Jesper Misses The Saturday Cut

My man Jesper had a rough round Saturday and will not play on Sunday due to the new cut rule on Tour. The new cut rule after the third round is meant to cut down the field to speed up play for television in the final round. Any player that is in Top-70 and ties survive the Saturday cut. Jesper was 9 over after the first three rounds and will be among the first players affected by the new rule. Others included: Tim Herron, Cameron Beckman, Charles Warren, Ted Purdy, Jason Gore and Kevin Streelman.

Jesper did have a memorable shot at the
Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club on Friday check it out:

The Bluebook Can Help With Web Hosting

I always love when I stumble upon a great resource while searching the Internet you know one of those ones that you bookmark and you tell your buddies about. Looking after a few blogs and websites it's always good to stay up to date on things especially related to web hosting, domain names and general maintenance of a website. Clients will constantly have questions for you because they've read such and such, so sites like Web Hosting Bluebook can be a great resource. A client asks you what is a domain name you can use the Bluebook to give them the scoop. It's laid out in a easy manner to search and read plus it's simplified in easy to understand language. I like to use it to see if there a better hosting company I might want to try because the Bluebook breaks all that hosting info down and gives you a list of top hosting companies. Try it it's a great resource.

Paint Fill For Your Golf Clubs

Do you ever get bored with your irons and decide to change the paint fill well apparently it's quite a thing to do up here in Canada as our winters are way to long. The guys on some of the forums I frequent have some easy do it yourself tips for paint fills.

  • remove the old paint with laquer thinner or someting like that... (also***use a semi-gel paint remover. Works like a charm)
  • fill in the letters (don't worry about going outside the lines)...when dry, take some of that green pot scubber stuff and (using water), scub away the excess.

Snowbound And Dreaming Of Desert Golf

Well we're getting more snow today unfortunately. Doesn't the white stuff usually slow down in March apparently not his year. We're expecting more today and on the weekend oh joy oh bliss. It's times like these I begin to imagine myself on a beautiful desert golf course maybe one like Wolf Creek Golf course in Las Vegas golfing away with not a care in the World. Hotels in Las Vegas seem so cheap lately maybe this could be a reality then I could spend more on golfing like maybe trying out The Falls Golf Club. These courses look so inviting for those of us snowbound with there changes in elevation, rocky terrain and warm sunset. Take me away.

So What's Your Drink of Choice Before Your Round

So I'm curious as to what your favorite thing is to ingest before a round of golf, I'm talking thos e early morning rounds so yuo still have time to spend with the family. Is it a cup of coffee from your local Tim Horton's or is it a cup of coffee from your own Capresso coffee maker or do you prefer a cup of tea? I even know some guys will just have a protein shake in the morning those healthy buggers. For me my perfect pre-round beverage is a Carmel Macchiato from Starbucks nothing is more soothing and gets me focused on that first tee shot that hopefully soars off the club face.

Being Prepared For The Future

When your young and care free you just don't think about things like settling down, having a family, saving for your retirement, life insurance , a burial policy stuff like that. I know I never did I was pretty care free just like most. My wife and I had our third child recently and it got me to thinking about my children and having all those things like a will, proper life insurance and a burial policy done. So when the kids are older they don't have to worry about those things. It's done so they don't have to deal with these type of things.
