Harry Putter Makes Appearrance on George Lopez Show Compliments of Scotty Cameron

Accepting the challenge offered by host George Lopez, the Draco Malfoy of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I' movie series showed his golf skill by breaking as many oddities as he could using a golf club and various balls during a 20 second run plus he gets a nice Scotty Cameron Putter from George Lopez at the end of the show.

After talking about female fans who are crazy about him and things that they did to attract him, Tom was challenged to break as many thing as he could using golf stick and balls in 21 seconds. While the Draco Malfoy of "Harry Potter" movie series could only break two things, host George managed to damage three things with his golf swing.

Having a wonderful time on the show, Tom wrote on his Twitter page, "Had a great time with @georgelopez thanks for having me, the crew and crowd were fantastic! i love my harry putter!! also met @NeYoCompound who was charming! loving the music!"

Another Golf Anecdote from Bobby Rusher

Here's a guest post from Bobby Rusher author of  “When to Regrip Your Ball Retriever".

"When to Regrip Your Ball Retriever” pulls from Rusher's years of a love/hate relationship with the game and gives tips on everything on the green – from when to lie on your score card to whether you should laugh when your spouse produces a banana slice (the answer is no!).
Another Golf Anecdote from Bobby Rusher.....................

Hands down, my friend George wins the prize as the primary inspiration for the comic Training Manuals on the game of golf from Bobby Rusher.

We were playing yet another of our highly competitive matches at a low level of competence, having agreed at the outset that if one of us broke 100 and the other didn’t then that would be an automatic $5 win. The use of constant banter during play was also approved in advance. Of course, Mulligans and Shapiros were always included as two of the major tools of play.

Anyway, on the second hole, I shot a nine. George then said, “Bobby, you’d better read my book.” I said, “Oh yeah? What book?” And he said: “How to line up your fourth putt.” I quipped that he really was such a brilliant humorist. And I called him a large bunker-butt. He laughed and said that just looking at me made him shank, and he called me a shank-faced nitwit, further suggesting that I was light in the loafers.

On the next hole, I suggested to him that he should readmy book, and he enquired as to its title, to which I replied: “How to duck hook from the bunker and still get home in 10.” He smirked and took out a three-iron in order to flub a slightly uphill lie about five yards forward. I said, “You’re still away, Georgie,” and he said, “I’m taking a mulligan.” I said that was allowed only on the tee, but he replied that he was taking one of his two traveling Mulligans, “or,” he said, “Have you forgotten, my friend, about the travelers?” I said ok, but added that he needed a lesson on how to get more distance off the shank. He said that he considered me to be a bogey-brained chili-dipper.

This continued for the entire 7-hour round. I forget who won. But on the plane ride home I sat with a gin & tonic and wrote down as many “How To’s” as I could. This list became the Table of Contents for the first book. I eagerly showed the list to my wife when I got home, and told her I was going to write a book! She said, “Great, honey. Great.”

The rest is history.

New SeeMore Si4 Putter Features RST2 Technology

After doing a few reviews of SeeMore putters I've always come away impressed with the style, design, feel and look of SeeMore putters (My gamer is a SeeMore Si1 still). Again I'm impressed with the SeeMore's new Si4 featuring SeeMore's RST2 technology. Love the black satin look and the classic hosel style blade. Should be a hit at $180.

PRESS RELEASE
(Franklin, TN - ) SeeMore introduces the black satin si4 featuring SeeMore's RST2 technology, which offers the key benefits of SeeMore's original RifleScope Technology (RST) in a classic hosel style blade. "This putter takes SeeMore to an entire new level of being able to help more golfers enjoy the benefits of SeeMore's proprietary and proven alignment technology," said Jim Grundberg and Jason Pouliot, co-owners. "Golfers for years have been asking for this type of design from SeeMore. The Si4 is that design, and is already in great demand on all the world tours". The RST2 alignment system is housed on the top of the hosel, where 2 white lines are milled perfectly parallel to the face of the putter, creating a "gun sight" effect. The golfer is assured of being square to the intended target line when the white lines are visible and the signature red dot is hidden. The Si4 features a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) face insert for a softer feel and a slightly lower rebound characteristic preferred by some players. The Si4 is available at once. RH and LH. Retail price $180.

Deadly Precise Putting System

SeeMore originally became recognized when Payne Stewart won the 1999 U.S. Open playing a SeeMore putter in the greatest final round putting performance in US Open History. The brand was re-launched in 2007, and immediately regained worldwide prominence as Zach Johnson used a SeeMore FGP to win the 2007 Masters.

Titleist 910 Driver Feedback - Twitter Style

With Adam Scott's recent win with the 910D3 Titleist Driver at the Barclays Singapore Open. I thought I'd ask around Twitter for some feedback on those that had tried the Titleist 910 Driver already. I have yet to try although it's high on my list to try at Golf Town (This driver just came out last week).

Here's every one's take on my Twitter question "What's the one thing you like most about the Titleist 910 Driver"

Even Christina Kim chimed in with her take on the 910 line:

Christina Kim
@ the incredibly solid feel of the clubs. I don't care for wrenches or tweaking things around. They just feel so pure.

Fore The Golfer
@ The face is far hotter than the 909, which yields higher ball speeds, and the adjustable hosel allows for the optimal fit!

ryancrysler
@ @ So far it's the ability to leave no stone unturned. 96 drivers plus shafts in the line should cover anyone!

Poulter Uses “All-White” Limited Edition ZL Driver In Victory

Poulter becomes first golfer to win with a white driver. Looks like there might be something to this white driver. Just released a  few weeks ago and it already has a win. Gives Poulter huge momentum going into the final event of the Race To Dubai. Watch how he does this week in Dubai and follow him on Twitter. This photo is one of my favorite IJP Designs/colors.

From the Press Release:
CARLSBAD, CA (November 22, 2010) – Cobra Golf Tour Professional Ian Poulter captured the UBS Hong Kong Open with a 22-under-par 258 Sunday, securing the 11th position in the Official World Golf Ranking. Poulter’s final-round 67 helped him claim his 10th win on the European Tour, after posting scores of 67, 60 and 64 in the first three rounds. The victory follows a T6 finish at the Barclays Singapore Open, an event Poulter won last year when he first put the Cobra ZL Driver in play.

Before arriving in Hong Kong, the 34-year-old Poulter was ranked No. 14 in the Official World Golf Ranking. But this victory moves him up three notches, and further fortified his confidence in his Cobra Golf equipment.

“My Cobra driver and irons have really helped me boost my game this year,” said Poulter. “I am especially impressed with the ZL Driver, this is my third win using it and the first using the all-white version. I like the visual of it, it's really very cool. It's unique and different than any driver I've seen -- plus its performance is great, too. Just like the ZL Driver that I've used all year.”

En route to victory, Poulter was playing Cobra Golf clubs, including the Limited Edition ZL Driver (9.5°) with a Fujikura Motore Speeder shaft, Cobra Pro CB 3- through 6-iron with True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts, and Cobra Pro MB 7-iron through pitching wedge with Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts. Poulter earned his first victory in the U.S. earlier this year at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, where he also used a Cobra ZL Driver.

The Englishman’s score of 60 on the tournament’s second day included 10 birdies, tied the Tour’s 18-hold scoring record, and was one of his personal bests. "I would rank it pretty high, to be honest," he said. "I hit 61 in Italy in 2002 I think, so it's my lowest round of golf to date. So I would have to rate it up there. I played great all week. It's just nice to be able to have another 'W'.”

Quagmire’s ColorFusion Goes Live After Nov. 29th

The wait is over for Quagmire’s ColorFusion shirts. Beginning November 29th you’ll be able to purchase online your favorite ColorFusion shirts. Just think what a great gift for Christmas and they’re not only for the golfer on your list (available for children and adults. $39.00 and up).

Designed to blow your mind, these crazy, state-of-the-art polos and t-shirts have fabrics and screen prints that change color in the heat or sunlight, depending on the style. Technically speaking, ColorFusion shirts will begin changing at 20° Celsius (that’s 68° Fahrenheit for Quagmire’s friends in the USA), and the screen prints that transform from UV rays will work best on bright sunny days. Unlike Hypercolor from the early 90’s, ColorFusion shirts are built to last – wash and dry them just as you would any of your clothes.

I'm completely blown away by Quagmire’s broad range of polos and t-shirts for men, women and kids with this unique ColorFusion technology. Quagmire has been busy the last few months marketing their 2011 Collection just follow them on Twitter and see the fun these guys have been having.

Quagmire ColourFusion has already been included in Golf Digest's Holiday Gift Guide as well as The Maxim Style & Grooming Guide. Golf.com picked Quagmire and ColorFusion as a top 10 trend. Quagmire's 2011 collection can also be seen in GolfStyle's Forecast.

Can’t wait to see the rest of the 2011 Collection and do some reviews of their products! Great names as well Quagmire. Not Fit for the Fairway!

Jesper Parnevik Sporting Lyle & Scott Club Golf Apparel

It was really great to see Jesper Parnevik back playing golf this past weekend. So many injuries and then surgeries over the last two years. One of my favorite players hopefully 2011will be better for Jesper.

Jesper was sporting a Lyle and Scott Club polo shirt on Saturday as he teed off on the 10th tee during the Children’s Miracle Network Classic PGA golf tournament in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Could his be a trend for Jesper in the new year. Lyle & Scott would definitely suit Parnevik style. Stay tuned and check out my latest article on Lyle & Scott.

TaylorMade R11 Driver Pics - TM White Driver Revealed MyGolfSpy Reader Submitted

On the 9th of November I posted pics of TaylorMade's new R11 white driver and TaylorMade's White 2.0 Burner Superfast Driver. I had seen them on Games People Play. What a find when the golf season is slowly winding down here in the Ottawa area. I bit of buzz you might say. I ended up taking them down within hours when one of TaylorMade's lawyers sent me an email saying that the images were copyrighted images from TM. I guess they didn't want the pictures leaked. I can see why they wouldn't want the buzz that was generated (Who am I kidding I honestly can't).

Thanks to MyGolfSpy for these reader submitted pics of the new White R11 to keep the buzz alive even though TM may not really care.

What do you think?

A couple of weeks ago we had Cobra with their white ZL Driver. White seems to be the new black. I'm liking this new trend towards white but how do they perform.

Bubba Putts Right Handed -- Rickie Four Putts

Two of my favorite golf pros on Twitter have to be and . These regular guys seem to get it connecting with their fans with an endless stream of tweets and videos on Twitter. The fact they're friends a coincidence I think not.

The latest videos are great, the youthful Rickie Fowler four putts during some miniature golf down time during the Children's Miracle Network Classic. Rickie sure knows how to unwind after racking up some great finishes around the world. Certainly a four putt wouldn't bother him especially when his future is so bright.

Bubba on the other hand is just plain crazy he hasn't played in a tournament in awhile but that doesn't stop him from dropping a few putts right handed. Crazy Bubba!

I love preseason Detroit Piston basketball

This guest post from Mickey Garza

This is going to be a team of destiny. The Miami Heat are packing a punch this year. They have transformed an above average team to a team full of powerhouse players. They have added LeBron James and Chris Bosh to play along side Dwayne Wade.

Many people have said that this team has too much talent to go around, but these players are unselfish players. They know what they need to do, and that is win. They are not putting their egos in front of the success of the team.

I love watching these players play. They are able to slice and dice their way through whatever defense any team puts in front of them. They can play the power positions, they can shoot the three pointer, and they can run the floor like no other team can do. They have what it takes to take the Heat to the NBA Finals.
They also have proven and seasoned veterans like Juwan Howard, one of the original Fab Five from the University of Michigan to back them up. Erik Spoelstra has a great group of talent that every team in the NBA will be envying this year.

I love to watch the Heat, and I love to watch NBA Preseason Basketball on direct tv special offers.

Scratch Golf and PGA Tour Player Ryan Moore Announce Split

CEO Ari Techner of Scratch Golf has announced on GolfWRX.com that their business relationship is over after just a year. This news catches many off guard no one saw this coming including me!
Talk is already circulating about a possible deal with Adams Golf.

From GolfWRX.com

Scratch Golf and Ryan Moore have amicably agreed to not extend our partnership beyond 2010. We appreciate all Ryan has done to help us grow our brand in 2010. It has been a great year for Ryan on the golf course and for Scratch Golf as a business. We wish him the best moving forward with his career.

The nature of our agreement dictates that Ryan will no longer hold any ownership interest in Scratch Golf. This decision will allow both Ryan and Scratch Golf to pursue other opportunities in the golf industry and on Tour. We hope Ryan will continue to play our clubs and we wish Ryan all the best in his future endeavors. Ryan's presence on the PGA Tour greatly enhanced the visibility of Scratch Golf in the minds of the public and opened many doors for our brand, for which we are very grateful. We want to thank Ryan for the attention he has brought to our brand this year and wish him great success in the years to come.

With Ryan's help, Scratch has seen more play on the PGA Tour in 2010 than in any previous season. Thanks to the quality of our products and the response from players worldwide, we expect our Tour and retail success to continue in 2011. If you have any questions feel free to email me at ari_techner@scratchgolf.com.

Q&A With Faddy Golf

Had the opportunity to ask James Kroh Business Director of Faddy Golf a few questions recently. Love the fact his golf apparel company is Canadian and they seem to be moving in a positive direction.

How did Faddy Golf start out?

Faddy Golf was an idea crafted on the golf course. My brother (Jeremy) and I felt as though very few golf apparel companies were taking note of the changing preferences of the “next generation” golfer, so we decided to change things. These problems namely include but are not exclusive to, poor fitting, poor quality, simplistic patterns and designs and an inability to keep up with the changing culture of golf i.e. the next generation of golfers. We then approached long-time friend and graphic designer Jeff Epp and pitched the idea to him….that night Faddy Golf was born.

Where do the design ideas come for your shirts?

The design ideas generally start with what is trendy and fashionable on the streets. We look at what’s “hot” in clothing for everyday life and use those trends to fashion our golf apparel. Essentially that’s what Faddy means. It is literally a slang word for “fashionable”, so Faddy Golf could be translated as “Fashionable” Golf. I think in a way that’s what sets our apparel apart. We carefully consider fashion in our brand while making sure that it doesn’t interfere with the “playability” aspect of the shirt.

How do you guys sell your golf shirts at $19.99 and other golf apparel companies charge a lot more?

The answer is simple…we’re not greedy. Well technically it’s a bit more complicated but let me try to explain. Right now we are priced at $19.99 because we are moving out the rest of our 2010 inventory, however even at our regular prices of between $29.99 - $39.99, we are still far cheaper than what you can expect to pay for most golf apparel. Competitors usually range between $59.99 - $89.99. And why is there a difference? Because we sell exclusively online. When you buy a golf shirt from your local pro shop of big box store, that item has already been marked up twice; it has to be, in order for everyone to make money. We cut out the middle man and sell directly to buyers; thus for taking a chance by buying online (which some people are still a little skeptical about) there are huge savings to be had. And this is the way we want it. There’s no reason for anyone to have to pay more than $39.99 for the highest quality golf apparel, well at least that’s how we see it.

What makes Faddy Golf shirts different from all the other golf shirts out there?

I touched on it before with the idea that we carefully take both fashion and performance of the shirt into account equally. In our opinion, most companies don’t. The one other important factor that makes us different has little to do with our golf apparel and more to do with the “Team” Faddy culture. We treat our customers as a part of Team Faddy, not as a customer. Anyone that orders off of us instantly becomes a member. We offer our members the highest services possible and reward those that make multiple orders with surprise extra’s, for example a free shirt. We also have a very up-to-date blog and other interactive features on our website that make each Team Member feel like a part of the company.

Any chance of seeing a player on the PGA Tour or maybe the Nationwide Tour decked out in Faddy Golf gear?

Over the course of the next year we do hope to have a player on the Nationwide Tour. We currently sponsor 3 touring pro’s that are playing on different tours and have represented us well. And as important as signing a big time pro may be, it’s the stories we hear from multiple Team Members that really inspire us. We’ve had many Team Members email us after ordering our apparel and tell us they shot their record low rounds wearing a Faddy. Others like our product so much that they’ve ordered as many as 12 golf shirts for themselves. So things like that can be just as cool as seeing our apparel on the big tours.

What are the plans for 2011 for Faddy Golf?

The plans for 2011 are simple. Tighten the collection and put out the best apparel in the industry at the best prices, hands down.

Another Hockey Game, Another Hit

Guest written by our friend Gladys Fuentes
When I sit down in front of my new high-def set and watch sports, there's probably nothing I like better than watching hockey in high definition on directv. But one thing I don't care for are hits that are intended to hurt another player, and that's exactly what happened with Niklas Hjalmarsson, who plays for the Chicago Blackhawks, tried to lay out Jason Pominville of the Buffalo Sabres. To be honest, Pominville was fortunate to just get off the ice with only stitches. The blow by Hjalmarsson was so vicious he could have seriously injured Pominville's neck. I think that the only reason Hjalmarsson did not get suspended is because the injury wasn't more severe.
But that begs the question: does it matter how injured a player is? That's exactly what has led to some of the nonsense in soccer, where players dive all of the time trying to pretend that they are more injured than they are. The reason they do that is because soccer referees make judgement calls on the severity of a foul based on the injury to a player. That's unacceptable. A foul is a foul, regardless of whether a player is hurt or not.
I want to see more consistency, and it starts with plays like the foul committed by Hjalmarsson. He should be suspended to send a message to the rest of the league.

Always Stylish Poulter Sporting A Little White Driver - Cobra Limited Edition White ZL Driver

Something looked different when I noticed Ian Poulter in a photo at this weeks HSBC Champions Tournament. Always one for a great stylish and colorful apparel combo. It wasn't his apparel that made me do a double take it was the driver Ian was playing. Yes this week Ian is using a Limited Edition White ZL Driver. Black has been the trend lately but Cobra-PUMA Golf has decided to go the way of the Apple iPhone and Santa Claus and offer a very limited run of White ZL Driver.

All I can is wow and how do I get one apparently it might be hard with only 500 of these drivers available globally this is what you call a limited run.

Gridiron Leather Golf Grip Gets Top Marks

Gridiron Grip Review - BestGrips.com Leather Golf Grip
Best Grips Review
When you talk to most golfers about golf grips, they usually have one brand/type they prefer while others don't pay too much attention to their grips. For me, grips are very important - it’s what's between you and the club. I like a grip that has a good feel because I don’t wear a glove on my left hand.

Recently I was contacted by Harry Sewill, President of BestGrips.com. about testing one of their genuine leather golf grips. I jumped at the opportunity because I’ve never used a leather grip before and I wasn’t happy with the grips on my new Scratch wedges.

Using the Bestgrips.com sizing chart, Harry had no problem figuring out what size of Gridiron grip would be best for my wedges. He ended up sending 2 Gridiron grips (pro standard size and taper).

Harry is very knowledgeable when it comes to grips. Years ago when he was doing research for grip size 8/9, he found that most of the better players, ie. tour players, were putting more wraps under their dominant hand. He found 2/3 wraps were common although some players went as high as 8. Hence, the "pro standard" or "pro taper" nomenclature which is about 2 wraps under the dominant hand.

I’ve really enjoyed having the Gridiron grips on my 53 and 58 degree wedges. As far as looks go, top marks for BestGrips.com in designing a great looking leather grip. They really accent the classic looking 8620s from Scratch Golf. They have a beautiful natural tackiness great for those of us who don’t wear a glove. The Gridiron grip is hand-stitched and comes with a baseball style stitch for a flat even seam. When you place your hands on the grip you get a nice even feel, much like when you grip a football to throw a nice spiral. In both warm and cool weather, they have performed great. If you're a feel player and you're looking at changing your grips, I’d suggest trying some leather grips from BestGrips.com.

As far as installation of leather grips from BestGrips.com, I had them installed at my local Golf Town and most reputable golf techs will be able to install these leather grips. If you have any questions about installation, Best Grips has great help on their website or contact Best Grips directly.

The price for one is $16.00 USD. This price might steer some away from this type of grip but what I suggest is buying one for your favorite wedge and seeing how you like it and go from there. I’m sure you’ll be like me and will consider re-gripping all your clubs with leather grips from BestGrips.com.

Snow Comes To Ottawa Area - Is Golf Seaon Over?

My kids were ecstatic to see snow on the ground when they woke up yesterday (Sunday) but I`m left wondering is the golf season over. Lots of courses last day was Oct. 31st so I can only hope for warmer weather to extent the golf season.
